I know a2dp is a stereo profile but I always wondered why no one makes mono headsets that have a decent sound quality to them for listening to music. |

Well, the best is yet to come, I believe....at least in my direction. LOL
I'm hearing impaired and am going be fitted with a pair of Oticon Epoq XW hearing aids. This is the latest and greatest technology in hearing aids. They are all digital and fully programmable, of course, but they also work together seamlessly via wireless communication to autmoatically adjust for certain sound situations. However, they have another really nifty ability: they are bluetooth enabled (up to 8 devices) with the use of a go-between control device called a Streamer. I've read and heard great reviews about the Epoq aids and understand that they stream music, phone, etc. using the natural pitch and tone amplification the ear(s) would otherwise require for normal conversational hearing. I'm really excited about this because reportely even the best bluetooth earphones (and believe me, I've tried a bunch) can't even begin to give the volume or the clarity these hearing aids are capable of delivering. Here's a link from engadget about the aids: http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/30/o...s-hearing-aid/ of course more definitive information and reviews are found in any of the major hearing aid and hard-of-heraing web sites. I get these aids in the beginning of the year. When I do I'll provide my own little review here, FWIW, for our hearing impaired friends here at PPCGeeks.
