would you mind posting a link to the prl download? I typically get my updates from http://corolada.com/prl/ but the 60611 isn't up yet.

You can find the link in this thread... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=13068
As for the original post and the "don't do it" opinion... For the record, you probably should have responded to the existing topics, but nevermind that. Most of us are having a much better experience with the 60611, although as with most things, your mileage may vary since coverage in each area is bound to vary. It's not like you can't revert back easily enough, thanks to Corolada.

I posted this in the Touch forum because it was relevant to the Touch exclusively. I don't use my Mogul anymore... should probably update my profile to reflect that.
Anyway, I dumped it, reloaded 60610, everything was fine, went back to 60611 and I don't have to roam now but I don't get EVDO at all, whereas it was spotty with the previous PRL. Also, your argument about how experiences are going to differ should be a moot point with a national PRL. It would be one thing if it was like Cricket where each market has its own PRL but a single PRL for the country shouldn't cause reduced performance in the exact same area that a previous PRL shined in. That's just bad programming on Sprint's part (not surprising but still). Last edited by EtherealRemnant; 12-07-2007 at 01:11 AM. |

PRL 60611 works fine in Southwest Michigan where I've tested it:
Portage, Kalamazoo, Comstock, Vicksburg, Three Rivers, Mattawan, Lawrence, Paw Paw, Plainwell, Allegan, Richland, Battle Creek, and Hastings. In a way, I agree with codyppc, PRL updates can be over-rated and creates an expectation that it will fix all your issues. It's literally just a list of towers to pull from based on roaming agreements. In some cases, it will help, in most, you won't notice a difference.

you're right, you shouldn't notice a major difference unless towers were added. But you also shouldn't notice worse performance in any given area. If you do, there's a problem.
