Touch won't wake up!

I just received my Touch today and had it on the charger......phone fell asleep now it won't wake up. I've pushed every button on the thing. Anybody tell a newbie how to wake this thing back up? Nothing is installed on it by the way.

The only way to wake it up is to push the power button on top. If that doesn't work, do a soft reset. Take the stylus and poke it in the hole at the bottom of the device closest to the camera button.
