Tethering Touch with Toshiba Laptop with PAM

I have a homebuilt desktop and a new Toshiba Satellite laptop, both running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have a pam plan on my account and I have been using my Touch as a modem via usb successfully on my desktop for two weeks now with no issue. I tried to tether to my laptop and will get booted off after a page or two (timeout) or will be unable to pull up a page at all. I spoke with advanced tech support for Sprint. They had me do a hard reset on the handset and we did some ping tests as well as searched device manager to see if there were any conflicts. One thing of note is that it showed up as dns device on mine but on the techs laptop it showed up as a microsoft wireless device. We couldn't figure it out. He suggested I contact Toshiba, which I did. Their tech guy had me wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows clean which didn't help either. He said it had something to do with the latency of the signal and it was a Sprint issue but his inflection implied that he really had no clue. I have the pam plan and was using my Q successfully on both computers before switching to the touch. Any help from anyone at all would be a great help.

I don't have a solution for you, but I had the same issue, except it was the other way around. My laptop can tether great, but my desktop times out pretty quick. If it helps you at all, I first tethered on my laptop, and then tried it on my desktop about 2 weeks later.

Yeah, I did try that but no go. I was over at Sprint Users and posted this question last week. I had a response from a guy who had a Toshiba laptop with the same problem. I work for Sprint retail and can't get an answer from either them or Toshiba. Usual situation one says it's the others equipment causing the problem.

The other guy who had a similar problem with toshiba laptop was me, however the difference is i dont have PAM, but i had teh same problem of connection timing out after 1-2 minutes of surfing. Then last night i tried pdanet, and all set now. no problem at all with toshiba satellite running vista. I surfed for about 1 hr....wud suggest u give pdanet a shot. just download their free 7 day trial version 1.8 for wm6

thank you for the input, I really mean that, but I work for sprint and have my pam on my employee account. So, I need a solution that will work under those paramaters, not only for myself but for my customers as well.
