Trying to make Touch work with TomTom GPS

In order for my Touch to work with my GPS I have to be able to turn the Dial-up Networking bluetooth profile on. It comes on the phone but is disabled. Does anyone know how to turn this on? I have a very expensive GPS that won't work with my phone due to one bluetooth profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You should probably mention which GPS receiver you have.

To get Tom Tom going you need to create a partnership with phone and gps.

Start with tomtom program closed.
1. Turn on gps and open bluetooth settings on phone and search for devices.
2. Once found enter code usually 0000
3. Pick you gps and highlight it and then Set up outgoing port and set it to com 5
4. Open Tomtom and go to configure gps, select the same outgoing port you just created, 5 works usually for me.
5. tomtom should find your gps and connect to it

After doing this the first time, just open TT and it will start bluetooth and connect automaticcally

Thank you for the information. I haven't yet tried it the way you are describing but I do have a few questions since you seem to have done this before. I can get the TT and the phone to connect through bluetooth no problem. I can make and receive calls through the GPS but i can't receive my text messages and use the TT plus services like weather and traffic. Are you able to make these services work as well? I have the TT GO 920. Thanks for your help.

He thought you meant you had the tomtom gps app on your phone, and an external gps receiver...

I have never paired with a tomtom, so i cannot help you...
I do however run tomtom on my phone just fine...
