Use registry tool to correct this:

MMS:
\HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\APP_2
Param
-service "MMS" -to ""

EMail:

\HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\APP_0
Param
-service "EMAILACCOUNTNAME" -to ""

replace EMAILACCOUNTNAME with the name of
the email account. (Find in Messaging -> Select an Account List).

In that regkey you can change the order of the new buttons too.
(and a lot of other things, number and size of buttons etc etc).
Wow, thanks for the great tip. I now have mine fully customized. WIth this, and the iCube, I should never have to go to "programs" again!

I have tried to change the email param using these instructions but cant get it to work. The name of my email account is Outlook E-mail because I have MS Exchange syncing everything. I entered it like this
-service "Outlook E-mail" -to ""
Did I input it correctly?

Lol, now thats funny. I'll try to help you out without any confusion. Basically, if you wanted the button to simply view an item (Say SMS), you would change the Param to:

-service "SMS"

However, if you wanted that button to create a new SMS, you would have to change the param to:

-service "MMS" -to ""

The same rule applies for email. If you wanted a windows live button that displayed the email account, you would need to change the param to:

-service "Windows Live"

However, if you wanted the button to send an email to a recipient, you would have to change the param to:

-service "Windows Live" -to ""

Oh, I forgot to tell you. Once the registry changes have been made, you will need to soft reset your device for the changes to take. Once you successfully configure one of the registries, you will definitely get the hang of it. Right now, my phone is so customized (between this, AE Button, and iCube) that it doesn't make sense. The touch is easily the best phone that I've ever owned. I have my HTC action screen to do the following tasks:

View Yahoo Email, View Hotmail Email, Create New SMS, View SMS, New Appt, New Note, and lastly New Contact.

Glad I was able to help. I love the fact that anything can be altered using the registry.
