text alert

i know others are having issues with the texting alert NOT playing when texts are received. it's not every text, but when it starts not playing, you must soft reset, but then after they start working, they'll stop playing shortly after. some say that photo contacts pro helps, but personally i don't want to use a whole other program i'll never see useful just to get the phone to do what it should be by default...

i have the "SMSNoSentMsg" hack done. that is the only thing text related that i have done to my device. other that that i have resco file/reg, power mang hacks, memmaid, HHC, spb backup, mms & mms size limit hack, and live search.

anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to why it keeps doing this. i had the same issue with the mogul during the whole 2 weeks i had it.

UPDATE:

ok so i've played around with it. if i soft reset, i send myself text msgs. it will play the first seven then the eighth one is silent and every one after that. also all of my incoming calls and any other notification you'd find in sounds and notifs is silent. even if i put it on vib, it will not vib. just silence. i soft reset again and i can hear the first 7 texts, but after that it's silent again. this is really strange... anyone??
