need help using s2u2 on Sprint Touch

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I assume it will be moved if it's not.

I'm having a weird problem with S2U2. I did look at the readme and noticed that it says it's not compatible with AE Button Plus; however, I don't know if the problem I'm having is related to that. If I power off my Sprint Touch using the Power button on top of the phone, S2U2 locks the phone - that's great. When I want to unlock it, I prefer to hit the green phone button and then slide to unlock it - that works great too. My problem is that I don't want to have to use the power button to turn off my device (I find it annoying to use that button since it's in a weird spot and it doesn't really give you any feedback). My preference is to use the red phone button to power off the device via a double press (this is where AE comes in). If I map the red phone button to power off my device, when I hit the green phone button to bring up the slide to unlock option it brings it up for a split second and then the phone app pops up - the only way for me to unlock the phone is to first close the phone app and then slide to unlock. This is obviously a problem. It seems to me that powering off the device via a double press of the phone button is not the same as powering off the device by pressing the power button (I would think they would be exactly the same but that doesn't appear to be the case). Is there any solution to this problem (with or without AE)?

I already have it set to that option but I don't see how that would help anyway. My problem is not that I can't use the green phone button to "wake it up" before I slide to unlock - the problem is that if don't use the power button to power the phone off I can't use the green phone button to wake the phone up without opening up the phone app.

Don't remember the name off the top of my head, but there's a setting in s2u2 that tells to activate when going to sleep or when powering up. Have you tried changing that?

I believe you're referring to the "start on wake up" option - I have that set to "on". I think my issue is more related to the red call button not powering off the device in the same manner that pressing the power button does.

There's also a "Start on backlight off" you may want to try.

Thanks, but that doesn't help either. I think the only thing that will help me is to somehow get the red call button to work exactly like the power button.
