i got two 6700's and two LG Fusics from an ebay power seller, but it was only because I was a new customer and i signed a two year contract. I got all the phones free (no rebates required), first month bill free including data, free shipping, no activation fee. there were a few stipulations but I was okay with those, like i can't change my plan in the first month and i can't apply an employee discount.
It appears that the incentive for that power seller to do that was to sign new customers with "high credit ratings" because those with better credit are likelier to pay their bills on time. Also, in the last couple of years sprint's been suffering a lot of delinquencies as far as bills being paid on time and what not. So, I mean in this case is worked for everyone's benefit. I can't, however, put my finger on what the motivation to sell is here.
If he's not extending contracts, then how is he making commission? Sprint's not gonna be paying him. Is he trying to achieve ebay crediblity by selling the phone at the price he gets it from the manufacturer, therefore making no profit? It would make more sense that those units, even when bought in massive quanities would go more than $250. Maybe, he's selling some to lose money but he makes it up with high commissions he receives in signing on new customers in another venue, but it makes me wonder. Please keep us updated, Coop.
