Am I the only one without sound in Windows Media?. I am trying to listen to a MP4 file from my iTunes library, is this the issue perhaps?.
Anyway, any ideas would ne appreciated. |

I use mp3 files and they work great. But I don't use iTunes, I use Windows Media Player 11 on my PC and use it to sync my phone. You can just copy file to your phone, but Media Player will convert them to work on your device when you use it's sync option.

Hmm! I'll have to download an MP3 and try it. Hope that's not the issue as my whole library are MP4s which I use for my iPod. The MP4 does seem to be playing though just no sound and if it was just the wrong format I'd expect an error message!..

The Owners manual in chapter 11.4 page 137, does not list mp4 files as a supported format for audio. It is supported for video.

Oh good grief!!!, I just realized that the Sound on the Device adjusts volume for applicationa AND the phone!. I was using the volume settings in the application, dang I hate it when that happens

Windows Media Player will NOT play mp4 from iTunes. The only thing that can play those are iPods and PCs with iTunes. That's why I don't download anything from iTunes. Way too restrictive. I've been downloading lately from Amazon.com...DRM free and I can play it on any device I want.

Actually, I also listed the wrong file extemsion, it's an iTunes M4A file that I was trying to play and MS Media does play it on the Touch.
The restriction you mentioned only comes into play for files that you pay for and download from iTunes. I rip all my own music into iTunes so I can copy and play it on any device I want=D> |
