Dial Up Networking with HTC Touch

I am trying to use my HTC Touch as a "wireless modem" and having trouble having my laptop recognize Dial Up Networking as one of the Bluetooth services available on the HTC Touch. (I didn't have this problem with the 6700.)

The devises are paired, but the only services showing on the laptop for the HTC Touch are "Network Access Point", "OBEX Object Push" and "Voice Gateway", but not "Dial Up Networking".

On the phone, when I look at the "Partnership Settings" for the laptop, it allows me to check any of the following services: "Serial Port", "Dialup Networking", or "Headset". I have only checked "Dialup Networking" and yet the laptop does not see the Touch for Dialup Networking.

Any help out there!!!!

I believe the drivers for this are in forums for modem capabilities, I know I saw them either here or at Xda-developers.com

I wasn't able to find the drivers. Which forums are you referring to? Thanks!

You don't need any drivers, I've connected the mogul and touch every which way on XP and Vista and never added any drivers.

This thread pretty much covers it even though it's for a Mac the exact same thing applies to the PC.

I connect using the Network Access Point and mine works fine. I just tell internet sharing to use Bluetooth PAN and connect. Then connect it on my laptop with the network access point.

Thanks.

I didn't have to set up anything special. Just connected Internet sharing first using Bluetooth PAN and SprintPCS in the drop down boxes. Then I right click on Network Access Point on my laptop and click connect. All is good from there.

Pitchblack98,

On the Touch, under Internet Settings, when you set the PC Connection to Bluetooth PAN, what do set the Internet Connection to? Phone as Modem, My Connection or Sprint PCS?

Also, on the laptop, I click on My Blooth Places, then the Touch Device, then the Network Access Point. At that point, the computer tries to connect and then I get a message which says: "The Network Access connection failed. Could not connect to the remote device."

Any thoughts?! Help!!
