Turn Start Up Sound Off

Can anyone tell me how to turn the "PhoneOn" start up sound off? I've tried deleting the "PhoneOn" file, but I've been unsuccessful since it is in the ROM.

since the mogul they've locked the phoneon and phoneoff .wav files. DAMN i hate that noise and i sure wish i could figure out a way to delete them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just copy the attached files to ur windows directory with Resco Explorer. I had no problem overwriting the files.

nice...thank you! how is it that resco allows you to overwrite those files but other file explorers or via activesync/pc don't???
