Can't use letters in password fields

hi there,

I just got the Touch and have run into a bit of a weird problem. Whenever I try to login to something through IE on my Touch and try to enter my password, my keyboard changes to a numeric one, and I can't switch into 'abc' mode no matter how many times I press the '123' key to switch modes.

Is there a setting in WM6 that I need to change?

P.s i've done a search and read the FAQ and came up with nothing.

Thanks

This is a new bug. Moderator, move this to bugs thread.

Try soft reset, also, you can go to Start - Settings - Input to select diferent input methods and configure them.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried a soft reset (holding down the power key and restarting it) and also played around with the settings, nothing so far, seems to work. Any other solutions? Perhaps I am looking over the settings do you know which specific settings I should be playing with? I'm using the 'Touch Keyboard'

And sorry for the wrong forum placement.

To perform a soft reset insert your stylus into the tiny hole next to the usb port and apply slight pressure into the hole with the stylus. The phone should vibrate and restart.

I do know that on password text boxes my Touch Keyboard swtches to a 35 key keyboard. Maybe yours is stuck in number mode. Try changing it to just "Keyboard" not "Touch Keyboard" and run with that for a while, then try changing back to the "Touch Keyboard" if you want to.

Thanks again Polen. It didn't work, but I just went and installed TouchPal and it seemed to work then. Hopefully they release some sort of fix for it later down the road.
