Disable notifications?

Is it possible to disable the notification left soft key without turning off sounds? Basically, I just want my phone to sound and vibrate when I get an sms or email, without making that notification left soft key balloon thing pop up.

Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications tab - Select the event (Messaging: New E-mail, Messaging: New SMS, etc.) - Uncheck Display Message on Screen.

Bump on this. Has anyone figured out a way to get rid of the pop-up notification when receiving an email and/or sms? It's very annoying and unnecessary and changing the settings in Sounds and Notifications doesn't seem to help.

I see what you mean, the option I pointed out does not show the bubble on screen, however, it still changes the left soft key to Notification.

I thought you only wanted to get rid of the bubble popping up.

Here you go, this was posted over in the Kaiser forum at xdadev.

I assume you use Push email, apparently that is what causes the problem.
