Yes, as with any other WM device, you can either sync your 6700 with your PC's Outlook and then sync with the Touch when it arrives.
Or run a search for PIMBackup and use that app.

OK. Thanks. I had backed up my 6700 with pim backup Since my 6700 is no longer functioning i hope that works. I used active sync and mobile device center to sync before, not Outlook, not sure if those will work since it will show up as a different phone.

Just got my Touch today. I was under the impression I could save my PIM file to my memory card from my Mogul, then insert the memory card into the touch and copy over the PIM file in File Explorer with the PIM from the memory card. I did that, but still no contacts...what am I doing wrong...?
I also tried to transfer via BT, but getting "Bluetooth Hardware Error" from my Mogul...must have been from the 2.16 ROM upgrade...I hadn't used BT since I upgraded the ROM. Oh...I also have PIMBackup installed on my Mogul if that can help me anyway... Thanks.

Have you tried backing your contacts up with PIMBackup on your Mogul and then restoring them on the Touch?

Sign up for free exchange sync at mail2web.com, sync your 6700 with the account, then set up that account on the Touch and sync it. If you don't want to use mail2web then cancel the account after done.

OK....so I did a hard reset on my Touch now, and then ran SPB Backup but only ran the PIM and My Documents options.
Now when I restarted the phone, I still have the Touch-Flo but the contacts are not there. So I tried to copy and paste the PIM file from my storage card to my device again and I am getting this warning message: Cannot copy "pim": Access is denied. Be certain that there is enough storage memory, that the destination is not write-protected and that the file is not currently in use. I went back to home and sure enough, "contacts" were open. So I closed everything. Went back into Filemanger and tried to copy and paste again and I am getting the same error message. Is this PIM file write protected...? What is this so complicated...? I would back up my PIM file this same way everytime I added a new contact on my Mogul and never had this problem... |

just tried to delete the current PIM file and it won't let me...it's saying that it is in use. Again...back to the Task Manager and there is nothing there.
I just got this phone so maybe I'm not understanding what is going on...what program is using this file and how do I stop it...? Is it something on the Home Screen...??? Touch-Flo...??? |
