Need the expertise of this forum

I currently have a ppc-6700 upgraded to WM6 Hemli version, on a smaller network called Cellcom in Wisconsin. I am thinking about getting a Touch from Sprint, unlocking it and trying it out on Cellcom. Both are CDMA compatible networks and I have a friend who works for the company who will activate on their network but he guarantees nothing as far as it working well. Are there certain files that I need in order for it to work well with the network? Are there any that I could take off of my current phone and load onto it before activating it? I know that this is risky as far as it working well (at least that is what I have been told), but I like the size of the Touch. On a side note, the 6800 just got released on their network. Any help would be great.

The only experience I have with unlocked WM phones is back when I had an MPX200. It was supposed to be on the AT&T service, but it was unlocked and I was able to use it with T-Mobile (of course this is all GSM, so it may be different with CDMA). The only problems I ran into were using the data services. I had to go to help forums and find out what the correct data settings were for T-Mobile. Other than that it worked fine. But again, this was 5 years ago on a completely different OS and a completely different service provider.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted? Oh well, got this topic bumped up a little. Maybe somebody else has more experience?
