which format takes up less space

i was wondering which format would take up less space mp.3, .wav, avi acc etc.

i have ringtones and music but was wondering which would take up less space.

.wmv is usually the smallest

From biggest to smallest (the ones you listed)
.avi (? this is actually a video format)
.wav
.mp3
.acc
.wmv

This is normally how it goes. You can substitute lesser quality for smaller size with each of those formats, though.

thanks , just wondering which format is good for ringtones..i have lots of mp3 ringtones ..i guess i have to convert them toe wmv if the touch reads these ..so you just put them in the ringtones directory on the touch..thanks

For startin up Download an app to convert music files. . once edit ur beats drop the wav files into ringtones and if u want better notifications place em into windows/ and then just choose
ur new sound notification for vm, text, emails etc.. Enjoy

My ringtones are mp3s, but all my music is ripped into the WMA format which provides the smallest file size. MP3s would be the next smallest I believe. .WAV are uncompressed.
