I don't think it will get your 5megs back, but the above kills the cube. I haven't tested this so I don't know of any performance gains...

Also, completely separate problem. . . when I lock my phone, hit the power button to turn the screen off, then put it in it's hard case, every time I receive a notification (vm, sms, etc.) the screen turns on and doesn't turn off after 30 sec like it's set to in the power settings. I know it's been on for a while cause the phone is hot as heck when I finally pull it out of my pocket later and this kills my battery. Am I doing something wrong?

are you installing to device memory.

Thanks for the reply SBR. Yes, I installed the cab to the device memory. I don't install anything on the storage card. It's just for mp3s and storage mostly. Other reg edits work, like the smsnosentmsg edit, and this one seems to still be there (wav1=0) but just not doing anything.

well i just tested it on my phone either but i am running my own version of the new diamond rom so i dont know if that has anything to do with anything but i will work on it. if you know the path that would be a great help as i forgot the path.

you can get it here post number #49 its buggy but it is hella fast it is very early in progress. this is the newest diamond ROM. if you look at boggsies ROM then you will what it looks like. here is mine

vetvito also has one based on the new 19591 Diamond which is the same base i used but im pretty sure his is more stable and clean. mine is a project with a group of people testers and developers. so if you would like to go ahead and take a look at my ROM feel free but im pretty sure vetvitos is more stable.
