I used Resco Registry Editor to make the changes without any problems.

my 6800 is through Alltel. It shows 2000 as the cache. any idea what to change it to?

I think you are referring to the "Speed Hack" that increases memory cache. Try changing the Base value from Hex to Decimal and you will see the actual memory cache size.

Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 16384… or even to 32768 for a faster setting but eats up more memory

the battery hack doesnt seem to work as well as it did on my 6700 but my touch is also connecting to the internet every 30 minutes for instant messenger and checking my email so that is definately draining my battery. Some people say that your battery also drains more when is searching for a signal. I live in Mississippi which doesnt have evdo in my area but when i visited Miami it stayed on evdo and it pretty much sucked more battery life out my phone.

Got from somewhere for my Mogul, can't remember where. Seems to speed up my Touch a good bit. Uses about 4mb memory with my setup. Still has about 68-69 mb's to start. I used 16384 on the first one.

2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 16384… or even to 32768 for a faster setting but eats up more memory
4. Close registry editor and soft reset.

HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS

I changed the CacheSize key from 0 to 8192 and it seems to have sped up my ppc.
