Does anyone know how to change the on screen response time for the dial pad??? I am not talking about how quickly it actually dials the numbers, but instead how quickly it can "flash" the number you pressed.

I know pocketcm has a setting to change how quickly the on screen response is activated. I would really like the dial pad to respond a little quicker as sometimes Im not sure if it accepted my keystroke without looking at the phone number being displayed at the top.

So to clarify, lol, does anyone know how to make the number pad flash quicker when pressed during dialing?

I know with my 6700, it got really slow if my call log got too large. Try erasing your current call log and see if it helps.

My Sprint Touch was already set to 8192 but when I tried to change to 16384 I received error, "Access Denied." How do I get around this?

Are you using a desktop reg editor? That is the only time I have gotten that error. If you use PHM RegEdit you should be able to to roll with the issues.

Mikeschevelle 12-24-2007 12:48 PM

Is there a reg edit to make the photo bigger for caller id when someone calls. I mean you think it could be a little bigger than a half inch square

The problem has something to do with the audio. I posted a solution earlier in the forum:

The problem, as mentioned earlier is an audio delay. I like to have some feedback when I push a button, so I use the attached vibrate file. It has quick response, and still some feedback.

I got it from some where else on PPCGeeks. So thanks to who ever created it!

Replace the .PNG files in the ROM located in the \Windows folder to the ones you want.

I'm currently using the Tropical Fish Attitude skin for my dialer:

I saw a red hack that made time for when you slide the 6800 open quicker. i have looked all over and can not find it again. does anyone have this?

swatspyder 12-30-2007 04:23 PM

This edit will change the time between pressing the "End Key" and actually ending the call. It is originally 3 seconds, and you can change it to any number, including 0 for NO DELAY

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
HTC
PHONE
PhoneExtendSetting <<-- YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD THIS KEY

ADD the dword EndCallTime and make the value 1000 (one second) or 0 (no delay)

Cool, thanks for this.

Does anyone know what is flashed when you run VistaHide Battery?

I have decided to not use the program but can't determine what it added and where to remove it.

mariartw 12-31-2007 11:23 PM

Bump - anyone?????

I wish it was as easy as an uninstall....

mr.jcarter 01-01-2008 12:15 AM

As far as I remember, since I don't use that app anymore, that you don't have to "uninstall" anything. Isn't it just an .exe file? All you have to do is delete it from your device.

My understanding is that there is no "install", there's just the .exe itself. Delete that, and any shortcuts you might have created yourself, and you should be good.

Does anyone know if there is a way to show battery in % instead of bars on top bar or anywhere on the screen?

For some reason, this is not working for me. Are there any settings I need to change in order to get the vibrating keypad to work?

Mikeschevelle 01-02-2008 01:33 PM

you need to install the cab and then do a reboot

Do you have the tones set to short tones? Those are the files that are changed with the cab. BOO

I hate it when I have to press the left "green" button pretty hard to make a call or press the right "red" button pretty hard to end a call. Is there a tweak somewhere to fix this to make it more sensitive?

Ok so now to get it permenantly removed from my startup directory so it doesn't auto-load everytime I reset the phone. Let the search continue...

not positive but i believe there is just a delay on it and there is a reg tweak for it here on ppcgeeks just search it out and try. it's that or just sticky keys

mojomahem 01-04-2008 11:57 AM

Im using Pocket informant and need a registry hack to default back to the 6900 original contact page. Ive seen this reg hack before but can not find it.

From Elkay in the 6700 forum

Force EV-DO/1X, quicker ring response

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would put these in the tips and tricks section, but that thread is going to get long and these two questions are already far too common, so here's a thread with a quick answer that will be easily SEARCHABLE (hint, hint!).

To do this, you will need your MSL, which only Sprint (or your provider) can provide you. Open up the phone app and dial ##778# (PST). You will be asked to enter your MSL. Enter it, and you will be brought into the provisioning of your phone. From the top left, select Modem Settings. On this page, your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) is how often your phone polls the tower for incoming calls, etc. This value is 1.28 seconds multiplied by 2^value (i.e 0=1.28 secs, 1=2.56secs) with 0 fastest, 7 slowest. The default is 2, but lowering it to 1 hasn't noticeably affected my battery life, and roughly 2.5 second (SCI 1) response time is far more reasonable than roughly 5 seconds (SCI 2).

Also on this page is your preferred operation mode. The Default is Automatic, which is the best available mode (EV that will roll back to 1X when EV is unavailable). There are times when you might be in a fringe area and your mode may cycle frequently and this can seriously drain your battery. Setting this to HDR will force EV-DO only if you demand an EV-DO connection. Changing this setting to CDMA Only will force the phone to ignore an EV-DO tower and maintain only a 1xRTT connection.

Hope this helps you all out!

wow truelight, that looks very cool, i'm going to call and get my MSL and set this I think, I noticed the delay from my old cell phone in the time it takes when someone calls me and was wondering what caused it!

(I sometime do helpdesk type support from home, and have our ACD route calls to the cell, but had my callers hanging up because of the ring delay)

superx10 01-07-2008 08:08 PM

Great! I was looking for that SCI info. I've missed so many calls cause of it. Does that affect incoming messages also?

tom_brady 01-08-2008 12:45 AM

does anyone have the reg hack to make ring volume for Touch louder?

You must be a old senile man. Touch ringer is really loud enough..

yes it scares me sometime also i just remember reading it somewhere here did the reg tweak for it. i am doing a bit of testing to see if there is a difference when i tweaked it in comparison to a OEM phone.

antoniouslj 01-09-2008 04:22 PM

hmmm... ok so i emailed sprint and they gave me my MSL through email... but isn't it supposed to be 6 digits? she gave me a 5 digit number. am i missing something?

EDIT: nvm... it is 6 digits... i just added 1-9 to the end (which didn't work), and then 1-9 to the beginning.... and found that she didn't type the 2 haha

PS EDIT: i applied the SCI tweak... and this is the best tweak/hack for the Vogue so far! great find guys!
