Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
Could anyone comment about Verizon 6900
1. call quality 2. speakerphone quality 3. ease of phone use while driving (theoretical, of course) 4. photo quality (is the color off?) |

Definitely NOT a phone you want to have if you insist on being that person always making calls and texting while driving.

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
Just received my touch last Friday. Played with it all weekend, was finally able to get internet on my laptop via the bluetooth connection. One 'first impression' issue I am having are the requirements for all the adapters to do _anything_. It seems that if you need to:
Charge the phone Wall -> Phone Computer USB -> Phone Listen to music pretty much anything it requires some adapter dongle. Seems a little absurd to me and will become a slight hassle as I will always have to be carrying around some kind of cable with me if I want to do anything. It also does not seem to come with an adapter for a 3.5mm headset. Other than that, I am going to continue probably downloading programs until I figure out which ones I will actually use on a regular basis, then do a hard reset and install only the programs I need as I can see how my current install will become quite bloated. |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
I just got my phone swapped (hardware keyboard was acting up) to a Touch because they were completely out of Moguls. I had my Mogul since August and I liked the device for the most part, except for the non-flush screen (everything is moving towards finger based movement) and the speed of the device. While Mogul ROM development has really improved the phone beyond what I could possibly imagine, the bottomline is that 64megs of RAM is simply not adequate for WM6.
Anyway, moving onto the Sprint Touch... The device is so much thinner than the mogul and the flush screen makes a huge difference, especially when trying to scroll. I love having the 128 megs of ram and not having to worry about what programs I install. I am running S2U2 without impunity! I have also adjusted to the touch keyboard rather quickly. HTC did a real good job with the 20 key SIP and I am texting pretty fast already. I immediately installed JD's custom ROM and everything is running great. My only issues with the is rom, is that it has an older Opera Mini version on it which is unsigned. It also has a funky HTCHome which didn't display the music tab and it's weather was not updated for US cities. Other than that with all the customizations I made, I am able to get all the features of the Mogul (except for Wifi which I never used). I was thinking about upgrading to the Treo 800w or even the Blackberry Bold when it comes out, but now I will stick with the Touch until the Diamond and Touch Pro come out for Sprint. The doubled ram and flush screen are the two biggest advantages over the Mogul imho. |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
Hey all,
Do you guys know why Verizon charges more for the 6800 as opposed to the 6900? I ask, because I'm looking to replace my 6700 with one or the other, and I don't see any major advantages to the 6800. In fact, the 6900 appears to come out on top with the high RAM. Thanks for the help! Mike |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
Hey all..Just ebayed myself a Telus Touch..
I'm interested in customizing it and what not but I'm not sure exactly where to start. Is there anything specific I should do before I jump into flashing etc..? Or would anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do with it first? Thanks for the advice. |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
Welcome and great to have you here.
This is not really the thread to ask in. Nobody has used it for some time. The search button on the upper tool bar of this website is a great place to find information. Best place to start is in the touch forum. I recommend that you spend several hours searching and reading. Good luck |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
I have upgraded my rom to a custom version. I used imcokeman 2.31 unlocker. Ever since then the phon will not stay on. It constantly reboots after just a few seconds of getting to the today screen. Has anyone else experienced this. One other thing, the phone stays on as long as it is conected to active sync. Is there a setting that I need to change?
Thanks, JDBUddy |

Re: Sprint HTC Touch - First Impressions, Questions, etc.
My first impression was "What in the world is this thing!?". To further clarify, I had a Razor V3M and for this past Christmas my brother gave me his 1 year old HTC TOuch Vogue. I had watched this guy adding and taking things from this phone but I didn't really see what he was doing. But now that I have it, I feel like I've been living in the days of covered wagons and have just stepped into the present. This phone scans barcodes and transcribes my hand writing with ease. It ID's songs from the radio and has Microsoft office on it. NOw I know all of your phone can probably do this too. But I must admit that I am blown away. All my razor could do was play a few games. But this phone, I think honestly, is better than my ipod touch. So Kudos' to the Mod Master Oxymoron238 for not only modding my phone to the point of magic. He also found a perfect functioning touch pro! =D THank God!
