Re: HTC Touch S - Radio update to 3.42.30 in order to install Android?
Quote:
You have Movistar listed as your carrier. Are they GSM or CDMA? I beleive they are GSM. If that is the case Android will not run on your phone (at least not the one built for the Vogue) You also said it was a Touch S does that phone have a SIM if it does it's a GSM phone and won't work with the Vogue Android builds. Now your operating system is listed as Onyx build, the Onyx builds are for the GSM Touch AKA ELF, Elfin. So to save from wasting anymore time the CDMA radio will not upgrade on your phone because it is not compatible. Android will not install on your phone because your phone is a GSM model and does not have the correct SPL. You may be able to search down a build or at least learn a little more on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=372 .

I think it's GSM, but I'm not sure.
Shit, mate, I don't have money for a new HTC! |

Re: HTC Touch S - Radio update to 3.42.30 in order to install Android?
The carrier Movistar is a GSM carrier. The Touch S is a GSM device. I did a little research and found that the Touch S is indeed a GSM device, released to the European markets and parts of Spain and Latin America. So unfortunately unless there is an Android build for the Elfin you are out of luck. You may want to look at possibly a different device if you want Android. There are alot of Android GSM devices available for the European markets.

Re: HTC Touch S - Radio update to 3.42.30 in order to install Android?
Funny there's so much development going on for Android on the CDMA Touch. Xda-developers has most of the information on Android on the Touch/Elf. There is also a separate forum there for the Elf. (You want to look for Elf, as that is what the GSM version of the Touch is called.) There is some development going on for Android on the Elf. I'm not sure how usable Android is on the Elf. I'd post a link, but since I don't have enough posts, I can't do it. You can PM me if you are unable to find xda-developers.
