Anyone have any suggestions on what might be the problem?
did you guys try flashing the rom at least 3 times as it has been widely adviced?

Yup!
Hard reset many times. Plus, it would hard reset on it's own.
The system would freeze then I would press the soft reset button and it would completely hard reset the phone. Which always was at a time I needed my contacts that got wiped out.
I've since flashed with a different ROM. And I have to take my phone in for replacement as the slider on the volume has fallen off. I put the stock Sprint ROM back on the phone before I take it in for replacement.
Hopefully the next phone I get I can flash this ROM and I won't have the problems again.

[QUOTE=piperthedj;1352729]i finally got the GPS to work.... smooth and sharp.

How exactly did you get the GPS working? I've been trying for "some time" now.

My device is working perfect with this ROM no problems so far.

Thanks

first and foremost cokemans unlocker -i dont have the exact link but do a search and you'll find it

then i believe you need to reflash as well- not 100% sure

start menu> system tools> GPS viewer,
hit scan to see what 'com port' your unit uses- mine uses com:4
most of the time i can connect baudrate at 115200, other times 57600, never had to go less at least.
then hit 'GPS status' and wait til you get 'a fix'- it will say 'acquiring 3D'
activate GPS in google maps- one of the better mapping programs IMO- and off you go...
keep in mind, first time will take a while to 'fix' but once you do, warm starts are considerably quicker. once i get a fix i can normally go a good 4.5 hours before i need to recharge.

hope it helps good luck

Welp, I just got my replacement phone. When I did the ##786# thing I got a refurbed phone with only 6 calls and 15 kilobits of data sent. In essence, I got a brand new phone! Woo Hoo! So, I unlocked with Cokeman, and then flashed this ROM, updated and set everything up. So far so good but it's only been one day. So, we'll see what happens. But for now, it's been working flawlessly!

Re: *Updated: October 12th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5 ROMs

Howdy. Yes this is my first post on this board...was directed here from SprintUsers. Lot of info over here. I've decided to switch back to my 6900 from my Diamond...miss my old Vogue. I have not put a ROM on in almost 2 years, so I'm a little rusty.

Is there a tutorial thread anywhere...have search, but nothing. I've applied the Cokeman update, gone into bootloader mode, and then I run RomUpdateUtility from my laptop. Acts like it loading, but it only takes about 10 seconds, then restarts the phone. Still WM 6.1. Like I said, if there's a tutorial page that would be great...not looking for free handouts here. I apologize if I missed anything with a search.

Been running 6.1 for forever. Can't believe all the cool crap you guys build for these. Droid??? Are you kidding me?

Thanks.

Hey is there anyway to enable MMS messaging in this ROM? Everything else works great but I miss my MMS messaging.

Re: *Updated: October 12th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5 ROMs

@jkidd1997 and any other former Alltel ppl. After many hours of searching and trying different things, This is the only thing that finally works for me.
Install the dcd_Alltel_Carrier_20081031, Soft reset, Install LennySh_Alltel_Arcsoft_3.0.26.12c, Soft reset, Finally install LennySh_ArcSoft_5.0.71.33R3_Alltel, Soft reset. Then you're done. MMS away as you please I have no idea why that combination works, But it does. I would recommend a hard reset before doing this fyi.
