Ok, I did it again... Flashed to stock ROM and then actually got it to connect to the internet, then just flashed to NagROM V3.16 Touch and again still unable to connect to the internet.

Note: While internet working under stock ROM, I went into Settings - System - Device Information and under the ESN, I found my 'current username'. Now, after re-flashing with NagROM V3.16 Touch and going back in to to 'Device Info', I cannot find any 'current username' fields. It's not even there!

Error Message: Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings.

I even called Sprint Tech Support and they couldn't figure anything out. They had me doing ##3282#, but after I enter that, I see it flash the EPST screen to edit the data settings, but then it immediately goes back to the phone dialer pad and I can't do shit.

I am still lost???

Sorry, cuesporttech. I don't have a clue what is going on. I no longer use the Touch, so I have no way of testing it. However, in the absence of anyone else having a problem, I would have to say you are missing something. I will have a new release out this week sometime, so hopefully that will fix it.

In the meanwhile, here is a link to V3.15. Hopefully that will get you by.

first off
may want to start with carrier cab at the head of this post. i doubt carrier tech support will help you with a custom rom.
second
need to figure out HOW your phone connects to the internet, most of the time it is by modem (in my experiences, #777 is dialed with the modem, then use username and password depending on your carrier)
third
path start menu> settings> connections> connections> add new modem connection. and fill int he blanks to setup your modem

this is something i have done multiple times with great success.

Just setting the settings how you want and then hit the red button. Then exit the app. It should all save. Make sure you are using the latest version of pocketrar.

my internet didn't work with this rom until i installed the carrier cab as per instructions.
v0.xx series in case it matters. i just did it today.


google maps wasn't working on v3.xx. i followed the isntructions on bugs report.
i got a regedit program from below.

wow dude, what a build. been running 3.16 all week. strong smooth and fast. great improvement on the keyboard, email super smooth.
have some issue with GPS acquiring position and blue tooth staying paired.
any suggestions?

additionally,
as you did not include the office package in this build, could anyone have a recommendation for an excel editor?- preferably free. i had 'think db' for palm and have discovered it is not compatible with winMO-

This build is very nice. Since it is so bare bones I can add a lot of the stuff I like and still have a ton of room. I added swype as my main sip and suddenly, between the awesome build and the new sip, my patience for a more modern piece of hardware has grown ten fold! Thanks!

What are your observations on this ROM vs. your last build. I usually like to keep up with the latest builds, but 23529 has been working great for me.

Little faster, same with Sense 2012, but no changes that I would flash for unless you are having issues already.

I should have 23540 up by tomorrow evening. There was a bug which made caller ID not work. If you aren't having the bug, there is no need to flash again unless you want this new build. It also brings the threaded email back.

very nice so far. testing it out now. one question i have is what exactly is included in the 3.18 version? i also downloaded your program cab but im not sure which ones need installing.

also after running the weather home fix upon boot up i get a error saying there is no app associated with manillahomeweathermoded. i have uninstalled the cab with the same result. also i can not for anything get any city to update??


edit i can not update ANY city no matter what i pick it says unable to get info for selected city. but i CAN get online just fine??? and am i correct this does not have titanium anymore?

I am updating the links in the first post as Mediafire continues to have corruption issues.

Also, unfortunately, the time has come for my WM/WP ROMs to end. I have wiped out WM and flashed my Vogue with Linux/Android and will be devoting my time to learning and working on Android and Android phones. Especially after today's ridiculousness from Microsoft.

So, (barring anything crazy happening) this will be my final ROM, I hope it can carry you all until you get a new phone. I will check this thread from time to time. Thanks for all the donations and feedback. Maybe I will see you in the Android forums in the future. So long and farewell.

First,Thanks for all you contributions!! It has made windows mobile so much nicer to use. Your leaving seems to be a MAJOR trend among chefs which does not bode well for WM; Are you listening M$????? Another of your Major supporters is fleeing for greener fields!!

MS announced basically all the details of WP7 yesterday. The key parts are as follows:

No copy/cut/paste
No multitasking
No 3rd party apps from anywhere except the MS app store
No removable storage allowed
No 3rd party UIs
MS can remove an installed app from your phone
Etc

You get the picture. WP7 will basically be a crippled iPhone...

OK, I understand. I think this is positive proof that innovation doesn't flow from $$. I recently had a daughter in law buy an Ipod. I know next to nothing about it. I got to play with it for about 20 minutes; my verdict was WOW. But there were things I didn't like, most of all, being locked into Apple and lack of multitasking. No removable storage???? What brain dead engineer decided that???
M$ has become like Washington: Too arrogant to listen TO THE PEOPLE and only concerned about how much of our money they can get!!
No wonder people are leaving WM in droves. With SPB releasing their Shell for android I think that it is a sign of nails in M$ coffin as far as WM is concerned. They will only be able to survive by buying off as many Software houses as they can. Eye candy is fine, but if it doesn't function they way you want.....

Because the Android builds are being built by a very small group of people, there are small hiccups: but then again it's the same on "official" builds. Internet sharing works on some builds and not well on others, and performance varies, but gets better with each day, and you can test them WITHOUT having to re-flash your phone. But some builds have gotten sooo good that many people, including former Vogue chefs are now re-flashing to Android. Head over to the XDAs site and checkout the NEW Android Development Section for the Vogue site and have a look see. I especially recommend MYN's thread as his present efforts are just outstanding

FYI, I'm not switching to building Android ROMs. I'm completely dropping M$ and going to Android phones. I will be learning to develop Android apps and programing. I plan on getting the Supersonic or Nexus One on Sprint in the next month or two.

been on the verge of leaving winMO since i got my vogue, been experimenting off and on with droid builds and even to the point of i am inches away from flashing NAND. however, (and i say this with the most loathing as possible) i- sorry, my place of employment relies on M$ exchange for work, and it requires USB connections for partnerships.
so until then, i will be using old technology, or finding alternate ways to sync. Nagrom, the chefs have lost a valuable tool in yourself.
as to everyone else, i look forward to the great things to come from 'THE DROID'.

Unfortunately, this 30 day warning is not a joke. I don't have any clue how this happened as all the builds I used supposedly had the timebomb removed. It's happened on my TP2 builds also.

I will try to get to the bottom of this and/or try to get a new build cooked up before the end of the month without the timebomb.

Sorry, I wish this was a joke that I pulled off.

Well, apparently some of the leaked builds got through with the timebomb still in. My fault for not double checking. I'm sorry. I will get try to get a non-timebombed build out before the end of the month guys.

Depending on when you installed my last ROM, you will have gotten or be getting a expiration message and your ROM will stop working at some point in the next 30+ days.

FYI, Office 2010 is a beta test only and will expire. There is no way around this other than going back to the old Office. Everyone's Office 2010 beta will supposedly expire today according to M$.

Hey Nag, Do you still plan on developing a New ROM for the Vogue or should I go on the hunt for an alternative. I'm not scheduled to blow up until May 1st, but it's still in the back of my head. I would prefer to stick with a ROM that you have built, but if you don't feel like messing around with the Vogue any more I understand. I would be moving on myself, but I don't have a choice until end of June when my carrier starts selling the device I want. Let me know, Thanks!
