I assume that the Tiermann isn't in the Verizon test v2 ROM? I get no prompts for any of that beauty first boot.

... strike that, just loaded less quickly than I would have anticipated, and didn't scan the SD Card... I'll STFU now.

Thanks champ, I already had that fix cooked in, this problem I'm having is one that it seems no one else has had. I'll try and post pics of it later on.
f_hugh, glad that it worked out for you, and thanks for trying out my ROM
Sometimes Tiermann gets booted to the background processes, if it doesnt show up, open task manager and it should be there. You're saying it didnt scan the SD card? Were your cabs in the root of the card or in a separate folder?

andrew how close are you to posting your rom. I'm eager to try it out, but don't rush it. Make sure you get everything working properly.

The cab files were in a folder on the SD card, so that is probably why it didn't get scanned.

Re: Vortex ROM by Andrewwelton [07/22/09] *Improved*

f_hugh, That might have been the case.

brack, I am VERY close to finalizing this version. Theres about 2 things left I want to try, and I'm building in the kitchen as we speak.
If everything goes according to plan, carrier specific builds will be out later tonight. Unfortuneately I do not think GPS will be fixed in this ROM version yet. I have done no modifying to the carrier data, and I'm having a problem with the carrier cabs. Titanium weather should work this time though! Fingers Crossed!

And a message to all users, if you dont use showcase, I highly recommend you do! It adds a lot of functionality to the task manager and has some nice features! (Multi-Option slider across the top)

Re: Vortex ROM by Andrewwelton [07/22/09] *Improved*

Man that sucks about the gps, I'm heading to quantico va on monday and could use the gps function, as you can see I travel alot, and really on gps a ton. Maybe you can talk with vin about how to get it working. I still would try out your rom though. I love trying all the cooks roms out, it's amazing how talented your guys are. I tinkered in ppckitchen a little, but i'm afraid of bricking my phone so I don't mess with it. I really appreciate the work you and the rest of the chefs (vin, wdm, juite, and nfsfan,) just to name a few. You guys have the roms that I always try when you put out an update. I've used your roms and the past and trust them 100% of not bricking my phone. Just want to say thanks again.

Re: Vortex ROM by Andrewwelton [07/22/09] *Improved*

Thanks brack, it means a lot to hear from the people that enjoy the work that I put into this ROM (with tons of help from the more talented chefs that is )
I'll see if I can get a reply from vin about gps, if I can I will try and include his things into this version. If so, this version may be delayed, but not really a big deal. Should only be a day, max.

*EDIT*
vin's not on right now. I'm googling like a madman for GPS fixes :P

NP, if it's delayed. Like i said before if u can't get it out there with everything working that would be great. So take your time. Vins rom's are great, I don't think I ever had any problems with his roms, except for battery life, other then that his roms have just about all the cabs that I use so I only have to add one or 2 cabs to it, but like I said before I enjoy testing roms, and yours are great, just need to get the gps working.

Re: Vortex ROM by Andrewwelton [07/22/09] *Improved*

With vins rom, are there any specific things you need to do for GPS to work? Or does it just work right away?
Like I've said, I never use GPS as I dont think its in my plan so unfortuneately I have no real way of testing out the GPS functionality.
On the V2 Sprint ROM if you install the carrier cab from WDM's thread (they are updated) does GPS work then?

Nope, I just flash it, install garmin and start it. His are carrier specific, and I use the sprint rom.
