i see that this is a new (if not newest) version. but i see no "download" link or anything like that. i think i have a version of helmi's kitchen from 07.. and its not quite so good, still many bugs. if i could get a pointer to where to go or even easier just a link to where to go i would be oh so glad, thank you.

I did the unlocker last night but I believe that it has slowed me down to Rev A. Can anyone let me know what they expect the kbits/sec rate to be with EVDO A?

AntiVir detected one of the files as a Trojan (TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen). False positive?

Spalla, I totally forgot what antivirus you have.
I was going to download it and try and see if you just some how got a virus in the transfer. But I guarantee it's a false positive. I have spybot search and destroy, microsoft anti spyware/malware program, avg, and a few other programs that run on a daily basis while I'm sleeping and I've never gotten a warning about ppckitchen files.

It's technically called EVDO Rev A. The step behind that is EVDO Rev 0. and then 1x. My Rev A. is actually pretty slow here. I'm looking at about 300kb dl and about 100 kb upload. I can get it up to 1.5 mb dl and about 700 up depending on location.

So, I've been through 4 wm phones and this is the first time i've cooked one. It's gone well, except I need the fix that is quoted. I don't know how to install the keyboard onto my phone through BuildOS. (Yes I know it's a newbie question). I dl the keyboad, but don't know how to put it into buildOS. Any advice would be helpful.

Also if anyone has any recomendations for builds I would be very interested in recomendations for my touch.

Download that rar,
then navigate to the ppckitchen folder on your computer,
it should be withing c:\Program Files\PPCKitchen\.
Inside that somewhere will be a folder called User_OEM
Place the downloaded rar inside that folder.
Start up buildOS,
it should show up inside there under the name its labelled as.

I'm at work so I can't really do any more specifics till later.

I could use some help

Hello,

I've used Build OS before and most of the time it works well - this time I have the white sprint screen with the yellow logo and some white text that only shows in the yellow logo area - I think I can make out the word been and copy - that is about it. I can't get past that screen - soft reset does nothing. I tried to reflash it with build OS - I get an error - Error building file system -

Building ROM
ImgfsFromDump 2.1 RC 2
Internal Error! Open Imgfs Detected!
Input file cannot be opened. Exiting.

I tried hard resetting it and it seems to bring me to the same issue.

DUHH _ please ignore - I had to press send or the screen or something - it was just waiting for me to initialize - although it wouldn't be bad for me to have the instructions on how to get to bootloader mode if someone has it handy.

Thanks

I did a search but I'm having a hard time finding the way to boot off the flash drive.

I'd like to get my phone working ASAP if anyone has any suggestions short of bringing it back to Sprint - thanks.

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

OK - I've used it for about a day- everything seems OK. It could be my imagination but browsing the web seems slower but I haven't run any tests so it could just be in my head.

The only PROBLEM I have so far is the camera. "the file camera cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate..." I tried buildOS with and without selecting the vogue camera checked - get the same error either way. I don't really use the camera so it isn't a big deal but it is the only real problem I've detected so far - I've reflashed it 8 times and it always gets the same error with this version of buildOS using 6.5.

I have to admire the work that get's put into this from PPCGeeks there are a ton of selections!

Attention to all Pandora fans.
Do not select COMMUNICATION MANAGERS when cooking wm 6.5 ROM and install Pandora.cab to storage card after flashing. No guarantee, but works for me...
Edit:you can bake Pandora into wm6.5 too.It will work.

I too am having the problem with the camera.exe file not opening up when I click it. Any ideas what it might be?

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Ok, I normally hit yes to the prompts that ask me to overwrite the files when its creating the ROM. so instead I hit no to all of them and let the defaults load. this seems to fix the camera.exe problem. Anyone care to give this a try to confirm?

Also, im having problems changing sounds and such. The settings wont stick, I hit ok and they just go back lol. Any ideas?

Vin,
What did you mean by this?
I built Pandora into my ROM and it does not work.
Anyone else have this issue?
Edit:
Never mind it works with the 21806 build.

I have not figured out a solution to the camera problem in 6.5 - other than that though I can't say I've had any issues that weren't already present in 6.1 of the official HTC release.

If you select vogue camera in kitchen's "Imaging" section and always press "yes" when buildos asks to overwrite-camera will work

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Just wanted to ask a quick question. I've used PPCKItchen to flash new roms on my 6700 with no big problems(once I figured out not to try and cram everything on at once). I've recently upgraded to a 6900 Touch. I just want to make sure the process is more or less the same for flashing?? Is there something different about the Touch that I need to know about, or can I do the same process I used for my old Apache??

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Richrock

Ok, I have cooked several 6.5 ROMs and each of them are missing the battery meter in the taskbar on the today screen and showing the time. Am I not loading a file when cooking or is this the norm? Any help to allow me to remove the clock and show the battery meter on my Touch would make me grateful?

This was a well put together download. I ask this out of ignorance as I don't build phone updates or really know how the clever people who keep supplying us these great updates get them built - is there a new version of this kitchen in the works with a newer build of WM 6.5? Please don't get ruffled if I use the wrong terms, I do appreciate the work that people put into these and the fact they give them to us.

Thanks

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Does the kitchen team intend on making official packages of the latest builds of 6-5? There hasn't been an update in a while

EDIT: Sorry, hadn't checked the main ppckitchen blog for a while. Waiting patiently... :study:

Hi
I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to by searching, so I'm happy for directions to a previous post that has answers if that's easier than re-answering.
1. I love the ppc kitchen but it disables my camera. Why? - I think I found the camera answer, but I thought I was doing what it said to do, but I'll try again. Who knows what will happen :) Isn't that the definition of insane? Doing the same thing but expecting different results? Or is that the definition of a Vista user?
2. How do I take my existing configuration from my phone & put it into the kitchen?
3. (rhetorical) Why am I so dumb? Please don't answer this one, there is no answer.
Thanks!

1 how do you mean disable?... like a error msg or just dosent work?, by shortcut or hardware button?

2. a back up program such as spb backup or something along those lines,

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Bear with me here:
Do I need the full SPB backup or the trial version? The trial version creates an exe file.
What format do I want the backup to be to make it show up in the ppc kitchen?
Sorry I'm such a newbie.

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Few questions, I flashed to this then flashed back to the OEM, but there were some things that I liked about this ROM and im curious if you can direct me to the applications.

1. the slide lock application (i have the newest S2U2 ap) but I like that its on the top and the way it looks in this ROM

2. the black upper and lower bars with the design of the symbols and the way the notice bubble pops up

3. the way the buttons disappear in internet browsing.

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

I built a ROM with the 6.5 kitchen and switch to the Metal or Black theme. When I am at the Today screen, there is a color line on the top of the screen. It starts as red on top of the Win logo and stretches across to the right turning into a blue color. What is that and is it supposed to be there?

That's the gradient battery meter. once it gets to the left (red) side its low.

hi everybody, I'm new to cooking ROMs also but I have read every post in here and I was wondering the same thing as suzannaski is there a way to take my existing phone configuration and put in into the kitchen so I can add or delete things from my ROM? If so can someone explain the steps to me? thanks

I read an earlier post and I checked the BuildOS folder in program files and I read the tips txt file but after I back up my current phone config do I have to save it as a certain type of file to have it in the kitchen? :read:
