You might want to check your button settings under AEBPlus. By default either the left or right D-Pad closes out of some programs. It happened to me all the time when I try to use the D-pad when browsing with Opera Mini. Not sure if this is your problem.

it sounds like it may be the app, AEBPlus, which is a button mapping app. I have it set by default as follows:

right arrow long press= ok/close (probably your culprit)
left arrow long press= start menu

Is there anyway you could make an Alltel cube cab like you did for Verizon?

here ya go, test it out & let me know....this one was trickier cuz Alltel has the 4 sided cube, so I'm not 100% sure about that 4th side.

I also threw in the Alltel default themes & boot up animation, to change the boot animation, go to HKLM\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation\GIFFile, change it to \windows\Alltel_bootup_240x320.gif.

I've never had your problem, dlynch03, so I can't speak from experience. But I noticed when I downloaded the coke unlocker package that there were several utilities included for resolving problems. I seem to recall in his instructions for the unlocker it said to run one of the aforementioned utilities to resolve a "stuck in bootloader" issue. That might be worth checking out.

You should be OK with MDM. I'd suggest some more reading before you go to much further. Your PC won't see the connection with MDM, but the bootloader screen should say USB near the bottom. Then you can run OMJ's ROM
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OMJ/ROMS/OMJ.3.03.04.Generic.Custom.exe from your PC (ROM Upgade Utility) then follow the instructions

Same thing happened to me. I upgraded to the Official ROM and was able to connect to the internet and start the IOTA service to set up the Vision service. After using the Generic Clean ROM I could not connect to the internet and the IOTA service would not update no matter what I tried.

I went to my dialpad and used ##786#, then reset everything through the menu, which performs a hard reset and resets all your info. Then after letting it boot up and all I had to flash the Official ROM again to get my service back up and running after doing ##MSL(mine is 208182)# and inputting my MSID and MDN (phone number) where required.

What the Generic Clean ROM is doing is changing our User Name from ie: xxxx@sprintpcs.com to (HEX ESN#)@hcm.sprintpcs.com. The system doesnt recognize this so we cant get online. You can verify this by going to your Settings, System, Device Info, and looking all the way down on the first tab at Current Username. It doesnt work for me when the username starts with my Hex ESN number. Its gotta be one I set up before which for me is hev381@sprintpcs.com, not (Hex ESN#)@hcm.sprintpcs.com.

I really like your Generic Clean ROM but its messing up my phone. I like how there is over 140mb free space from the Device Memory. Is there a way to make a Sprint Clean ROM that doesnt contain any of the programs but runs its own Customization instead of UC so all the Sprint Default Settings get in the phone? Thanks.

By the way, running the PPST.cab, then the PPST.exe do not fix this issue. Not on the Clean ROM or the Official ROM for me.

Re: OMJ's 3.03.04 WM6.1 Custom Touch ROMs w/ User Customization! Updated 7/21/08

By the way, I am having to use the Stock ROM just to get my internet working, which I hate cuase its bloated with software and only have 112mb free on my Device Memory. I really want a super clean ROM with just the essentials/normal WM6.1 software, even without the CUBE cause I dont use it, but that works with Sprint Service without that IOTA hiccup.

By the way, GREAT JOB OMJ for your dedication to these superb custom ROMS!

UPDATE: I just got it to work, I flashed the Official Stock ROM, Ran the PPST.CAB found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979 on the section that says GPS - HOW TO. and all the steps from:

4. Copy PPST_080407_7500_SPCS_2.03.sa.CAB to device and install.
5. Browse to the Windows folder and run PPST.exe. Soft reset when finished. (I DID NOT DO THIS STEP. PLUS, I SOFT RESET AFTER THE REST OF THE STEPS WERE COMPLETED, NOT AT THIS POINT YET!!!!!)
6. Copy Assisted GPS Hack.cab to device and install.
7. Copy Virsir_GPS.dll to Windows Folder.(You will need Resco Explorer in order to see the dll file on the device).

Then I soft reset it, made sure that internet was working.

Then I flashed the Generic Clean ROM and voila! It is working now.

The PPST.CAB I tried before was the one in the Windows directory which must have been different, but the one on the link up top did work.

I had a similar problem. Not sure this will help you but I found out that if you got your phone connected to your PC/Laptop with active sync running, IOTA will not run properly. Once you disconnect the USB cable, you should be able to run IOTA.

I have OMJ's generic custom rom on my Sprint Touch.

what's your status? I would start with flashing the official rom, just download the .exe & run it....doesnt get any easier. if you want a custom rom, you need to follow my instructions on post #1, run the 2.31 unlocker, then download the custom rom of your choice, get into bootloader mode, run the romupdateutility.exe.

This is why I recommend flashing the official rom 1st & letting the sprint customizations run (if you're w/ sprint).

I test of my roms b4 releasing & I have not had these issues. That info is outdated, PPST_080407_7500_SPCS_2.03.sa.CAB is not even the latest PPST from the official rom, the latest is PPST_080516_7500_SPCS_2.04.sa.CAB....anyways, there's no need to run this cab after flashing if you let customizations run....it is ran for you.

from the customizations command list....

I flashed to the stock Sprint ROM, let it do customizations, etc, and ran IOTA. Re-installed the CLEAN OMJ rom, and was able to USE the internet, *BUT* if I go to RUN IOTA it fails (I can still use the net afterwards, guess because my username/pass were already stored), but I do know that from time to time the need TO use IOTA does come into play, and if it can't be used when it's needed, thats a concern.

OMJ, I installed your V2 for Spring full and it seems buggy, meaning it will become really sluggish and sometimes freeze. I also noticed the GPS is inconsistent where as before it was always ready and locked in less than 30 sec. Now I have to soft-reset before I can get a lock. Other small issues that I did not see before with your version before the official release version. Would you recommend I reinstall the new ROM and than your again? The ROM overall I think is the best one out there. Thanks

Does this rom include the tether fix?
Is there any wack to include some sort of auto time out for the internet connection to preserve battery live?

yes, it has the tether fix....I've heard of a data timeout, but never used it.....try searching the forum for it.

nueLED is not configured by default.....I turn them all off after flashing, but yes, you can configure it to leave the notification LED on.

my custom roms have the percentage....but regardless, when you view your battery status, it will show in 1% increments.

I'm toying w/ the idea of making a Diamond theme rom.....I don't know much about the Diamond, but I just checked it out @ HTC....looks pretty cool.

I also saw somes Diamond themes here on the forums, but I'm wondering which performs best....I've seen one based on Wisebar Advance, one based on Ultimate Launcher, and a SPB version.

Anyone try either of these?

Hey guys and gals, need a quick refresher. I have the old altell rom. Do I need to reflash the original sprint rom in order to upgrade to the new sprint rom. I am pretty sure the answer will be yes.

If so can someone be nice enough to supply a link to the site on how to? :)

I think a Diamond thing would be great, but only if it is done in a way that the users can customize what programs appear where, and can add their own programs, etc., not one that comes with preset options that can't be modifyed.

The answer is no.

If you are talking about loading the official GPS/Rev.A/WM6.1 (*.4_2) ROM, then you don't need to do anything but load that new ROM.

I've used the SPB theme, the Wisbar theme, and I'm now using Next's Throttle ROM. The Wisbar was brutal. I know a lot people seem to like and not to take anything away from the great work JDume did, but for me it was so slow and laggy that I found it unusable.

For a while I was using your custom ROM with Greatball's SPB theme. That was probably the least buggy Diamond interface, but it really is just a the Mobile Shell inteface (again not to take anything away from the great work that went into it) and definitly has that feel to it.

Finally, I've been using Next's ROM for about a week now. It is by far the best Diamond like inteface, but seems to be somewhat buggy. I think it's more an issue with Throttle Launcher than anything else at this point.

hey thanks for the reply. I am not sure what altell mod I loaded and not sure wich sprint mod to load. I may not have been clear in my question. I have a "sprint" touch and I modded the altell rom on it a few months back. It works fine with gps and everything, but it has the ugly blue altell screen and keeps saying "connecting to Altell" when I connect to the internet. I want to mod it to the new sprint(or a good hacked)version.
1.) do I need to revert back to the original sprint mod before i upgrade?
2.) what new sprint mod(link please) would you suggest?

Again thanks for the help, as it has been awhile and I lost all the links I had saved.

I also saw somes Diamond themes here on the forums, but I'm wondering which performs best....I've seen one based on Wisebar Advance, one based on Ultimate Launcher, and a SPB version.

Anyone try either of these?

Have not tried these, but they look cool. Was going to try them for the look, but read they run kind of laggy so staid away.

I think a Diamond thing would be great, but only if it is done in a way that the users can customize what programs appear where, and can add their own programs, etc., not one that comes with preset options that can't be modifyed.

The best I've seen yet is musicflo. It is not a skin or customization or cube hack, but a standalone program that runs ontop. the clock could be prettier (some like it), but the customization, speed, low resource use, is all right on. Highly recommend it to everyone.

OMJ I have to say your rom is awesome yet again!

I have run into one issue however. My work just recently went to exchange and in order to get to exchange I have to use VPN. Now, when my phone activesyncs, it freezes when the backlight goes off (or maybe just freezes) randomly when connecting the VPN. The only way out of it is to soft-reset.

Has anyone else experienced this? The LED that it is connected to for the phone is flashing, but I'm not able to do anything with the phone.

I just did a clean install of the sprint OEM rom, then installed your custom Sprint ROM. Any ideas? This was also happening with your leaked rom, but I had figured maybe I had messed with a setting for the VPN sleep or something that screwed it up. I thought that the reinstall would have fixed it but it is not the case. It seems if I configure it to manually sync instead of as they're pushed, it doesn't freeze except for randomly when I need to sync.

Thanks so much again!

If so can someone be nice enough to supply a link to the site on how to? :)

as scrap said, no, you don't need to load the original sprint rom, just flash the new official....follows the steps from post #1.

I'm testing Greatball's SPB theme now....it's not too bad, pretty stable, but I'm looking for something that's closer to the actual diamond look.....may try Throttle next....thx for the info.

I thought MusicFlo was a cube based diamond theme.

sorry, but I've never used VPN on the ppc....I sync w/ Exchange via OTA......is this issue also on the official rom?
