Don't know how to make it any easier but here goes:
(1) Open phm reg editor and go to HKLM\nls\overrides, click on "SSDte"
(2) Change the value to M/d/yy and exit
(3) Soft Reset
(4) Open sMMS, go to MENU and select "clear cache" select "YES"
(5) Go to messages and resync. You shuld now be able to open and view the PICS.
I just did this again last night after I reloaded ROM v1.5, so I know it works.
