Thanks, RG. I don't have that option in the Verizon ROM. I do have the "Plus Code Dialing" which did not make a difference.
Doing some research, I found the following article:

Is that helpful? The funny thing is that everything worked on 1.5. So, my best guess is that something changed in 1.6.

Go to settings and get settings for INTERNET and will get it to work!!

Force bootloader with power,camera,reset and reflash if it will take it, sometimes the phone will reboot when in bootloader and that is a problem with the phone, either happened from flashing(possible but not likely) or a random hardware failure.
