Intermittently after the phone has been working fine for a while, I will turn it on and try to use any program to connect to the internet, and it acts like the internet is not available. No program can connect. The phone and text messaging still work, though. I soft reset, and everything is fine. This happens once or twice a day, sometimes every other day. Most of the time, my internet runs just fine. I cannot associate this with anything in particular - no programs running in background, I can't think of anything I installed that caused this to begin but it started so long ago it is hard to remember. And yes, I am in great network coverage when this happens.

Thinking about doing a hard reset, but don't want to have to redo all my settings for some stuff - I know I can back up a lot, which I do, but there are certain settings that just have to be manually re-entered and I am dreading it.

Questions:
1. Anyone have this problem on a Bell ROM?

2. What exactly is affected with a hard reset (contacts, emails, etc only? programs on internal storage? anything happen to external storage? Do all programs get reset, or just some?)?

I'm using OMJ 3.09 custom (non M2D) with M2D update 19 running on top.
1. I never had that issue when i had my touch
2. a hard reset will put your phone back to how it was from your last flash, only programs cooked in the rom will remain

if the updated app installs to \windows it should overwrite the current files, if not then you'll have dups....give it a try, if it doesnt work, you could flash my non-m2d rom then add m2d

OMJ, Ive been running your 3.09.01 3.42.50 for awhile, and see now there is an official Verizon one, and also see its possible to use the GPS, even with iGo with the official. Is there any advantage to using the new verizon rom over your custom rom?

If not, are there any improvements with your latest over the one im currently running? I see stuff about MD2/3 but dont know what that is.

I actually tried, but got stuck on the CoKe rainbow screen. Would I have to follow some uninstall instructions to be able to flash the new verizon rom?

well personally if i was on vzw I would flash it to see if i liked it, you can always flash again.....check the screen shot of M2D in post # 1, it is very similar to M3D that is in the Diamond & Touch Pro.....again, give it try to see if u like it, you can always flash back.

Hey OMJ,

Thanks for putting out all those Touch roms, its too bad you won't be putting out more. Hope you enjoy that Diamond.

I'm currently trying to adapt a new rom to behave like yours. It seems to use a different Voice Dial program (Voice Commander?). Could you let me know the name of the program you used and where I could find it? Thanks a lot.

Got the same problem just go into the comm manager and turn off the data connection.
Restart IE and it will connect again. NO more resetting

No fix yet. Other than a reg edit changing autodisconnect=1 so that when IE close so does the data connection.

So new connection is made everytime. No more hangups but you'll have to deal with iT reconnecting everytime too..

I just avoid WM alarm clock. I use g-alarm, best alarm ever. Will integrate to show its next alarm on M2D home. Works when phone is set to silent or vibrate. Use any song, aac, mp3, whatever, can require maze or calculation to turn it off so that you really have to wake up.
