Re: OMJ's 3.03, 3.09, M2D WM6.1 Custom Touch ROMs w/ User Customization! Updated 10/9
i think this may work, but if it does I'm almost sure it would have to be a "shipped/official" rom. I'll see what I can dig up.....it definitely wont be a verizon rom. *EDIT* here ya go, Official Sprint 6.0, found it on the FTP in ImCokeMans folder.....just a reminder, Dont let the post flash customization run, SOFT RESET!!! ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/Im...NV133_Ship.exe

in case anyone is interested.... i emailed UTStar support about a Verizon 6.1 update and received the following email:
There going to be a update for the XV6900 late October or early November Unfortunately, we don't have a projected release day as of yet. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you. |

I had 2 quick questions. First off though, OMJ, you are a great asset to the forum! I love your ROM's!
1) When the VZW ROM comes out, does anyone expect it to have anything worth going to vs using an OMJ Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM? 2) What is the difference between the Manilla ROMs and the Non-Manilla? I have the XV6900, will it work, and is Manilla just the latest ROM that OMJ is making? Thanks guys. Last edited by TheAnarchist; 10-14-2008 at 07:12 PM. |

ps i have vx6900 and running clean manilla2d. plus the GPS fix. ... when the vz official rom from vz comes out, or when vz omj rom comes out, i wasnt sure what you asking? either way, the roms are fine without it. an official vz rom maybe have vznavigator on it, but who cares if have gps working already. and if waiting for omj vz rom, dont worry just run the clean one and add dcd's vz cab which brings over some vz customization settings i think. |

![]() 2. Manila is a user interface that's a little different than what most folks are used too. I think it hails from the diamond, and I think that's the latest he's working on.

You need to make sure that your GPS is set to use COM4 @ 4800baud: Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Services -> Location Settings -> ON Settings -> System -> External GPS -> Programs -> Program Port: COM4 Settings -> System -> External GPS -> Hardware -> GPS hardware port: (None) Settings -> System -> External GPS -> Hardware -> Baud rate: 4800 Settings -> System -> External GPS -> Access -> (Checked) Manage GPS automatically If these settings don't get you a position fix with your GPS (in an unobstructed sky view with proper time to lock on) the GPS speed hack won't do you any good (and will just give you an opportunity to possibly brick your phone). An initial fix might take a while to get (15min is not unheard of), I suggest going to an open field with a full battery and trying to get a fix with Google Maps -- each time after that initial fix should be significantly faster. (If you continue to have problems, please post the specific program you are using, any error messages it may give, and how long you've given it to work -- that would help a lot!) |
