Ugh. I use MSVC more than anything else. Works OK in the kitchen based ROM I'm using so I'm going to have to wait until the new ROM makes it to the kitchen.

I believe theres a MSVC 1.6 CAB around here somewhere if you search. It does not require an OEM to incorporate it into your rom.

Unfortunately, the MSVC 1.6 CAB is older than the version in the Kitchen. So it doesn't work right with WM6.
The version in the kitchen has confirmations working correctly albeit quietly. MSVC 1.6 CAB won't work right.

Just Curious. I know there are PPC Anti-Virus programs, but What PPC viruses actually exsist? I haven't seen or heard of anyone ever being infected by one. Here's one of many threads that I found on this topic through Google search:

http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=251957

In any event, once you fully customize and setup your phone, make sure you Sprite Backup it. Then if you ever have any "virus" issues, all you need to do is a hard reset and restore from your Sprite Backup file.

Hope this was of some help.

I bet if someone really wanted to they could make one.....but PDA/PPC's are very small and don't carry barely any information besides Contacts....that would be the only useful information, and maybe text and a phone list , besides that, a PC virus is much more useful because PC's contain your life

I agree with you, but as the article pointed out:

"Yes, it is possible to make a PPC virus: as I said, there are a couple of "proof of concept" models that have been seen. However, since they lack a means to reproduce, they're not found in the wild. PPCs don't have some of the issues PCs did/do, such as the ability to automatically execute code. No VBScript, no Office macros, no open internet ports. So the ability to get infected with a virus basically boils down to getting the user to voluntarily install it."
