Anyone able to get the Diamond Today Screen to run with this once its up an goings. I install the latest Today Screen .cab and it locks everything up, have to hard reset and start from scratch.

i feel sorry for the people that buy these phones with 6.1 preinstalled that DONT tweak like us. Its not going to be very pleasant.

now i just wait for the kitchen to be updated.

Well man I just don't get it. If you hate these phones so much then nothing is going to be able to make you happy... Why don't you just go buy that iPhone you obsess about in your signature?

Not to come of as a d!ck but most of us here have been waiting for this update for a long time and it blows Alltel's ROM away as far as funtionality and appearance... From the sounds of it, there are a few bugs but nothing that can't be fixed and personally, I'm a tweaker so fixing these bugs isn't a problem for me.

I believe you said you're a tweaker as well... Well judging by your lack of motivation to "tweak" it to get rid of the bugs like the rest of us, I must say I have to disagree with you.

i agree this is the one of the better ROMs ive used out of the 5 or 6 custom ones. I think its almost as snappy as the newest 19591 Diamond build ROMs, but more stable and gps works a ton better.

Id have to agree with dharvey here, if you just want to complain sell it and get an iphone and youll have instant-access interface, or else have some patience to regedit stuff. This is NOT an iphone no matter how much people expect it to be. WM is NOT an instant-access interface, but it offers a ton more than those that are (iphone, instinct, etc). and if you load it down with a bunch of crap pretending its an iphone and making it look like one, then yes it will bog down. Instead of stripping ROMs bare to pretend its an iphone, sometimes losing essential functions and stability, try tweaking a full official ROM correctly and it will be more stable and less problems in the end. Remember the custom ROMs have the exact same stuff in them and based off the official anyways, just programs are stripped which do NOT speed up the OS, theres absolutely no correlation between ROM and RAM. They are not some magic out of the air mystical builds, they are based off a Sprint stock ROM to start. There are very slight speed differences, but nothing to sit here and rant and rave about.

People want to load there phones down with fluff program to make it "pretty" and then wonder why its slow! common sense here ppl, just like why Vista is ok without the Aero stuff and animations and sidebar, and slower with. Its using more resources, not brain surgery .....

I should have mentioned that I did that already. It's when I try to copy back that it gives me a protection error. I even tried copying using Resco Explorer but it also slams that.

Any suggestions?

Try this...
rename the files in windows first, like add something to the end of them like _old. Then try to copy the edited files using total commander or something. That process has worked for me in the past.

I had some issues with this install getting stuck at about 10% and then error 328. I found the problem was I was installing using Vista. I switched to a PC using XP and had no issues. I just wanted to inform in case anyone is having issues.
