The stock rom is floating around somewhere. But from what i have read once you upgrade it is not wise to go back. because of the radio bricking may occur.

Check your registry settings.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSMode = 4

i used the gps unlocker and was ok. I then reflashed to the original rom and will now go to the sprint store on friday as they need to replace my phone because of the blue dot on it.

I really would like to have some feedback on these questions, it's been almost a week and the only one of the above that I've tried is the time syncronization, I haven't had any lockouts, but it seems I still get calls that don't ring and my phone occassionally powers off by itself. I've also noticed the horrible call waiting martian sound. GPS is great, so is threaded messages, but I would love to hear about attachments on storage card, any corruption anyone? Does anyone have bluetooth problems with the new rom? Anybody else experiencing missed calls or random power offs?

anyone know how to get the phone to default back to the today screen when device
lock is pressed? no longer does it. phone stays on current screen when locked.

It works fine for me but is ridiculously slow, about 1/10 the speed of having it tethered through usb.

Was it slow before the upgrade? cause i only use bt pan, as i have a mac and a touch its just the easiest free way. but my connection is quite speedy. the speedtest in my sig is from tethering with bt pan and i'm not even rev a yet.

Wow.... Thats fast. You must be in a super duper Evdo area!! :headbang:

I simply tested with BT now because you were wondering, so I have no idea what It was prior.

I personally like to tether with the usb myself because it charges at the same time. Most of the time Im not near an electrical outlet when Im using my laptop and the Touch battery tends to drain pretty quick when tethering. So bluetooth is not an option for me unfortunately :disgust:

tried that. doesn't work. i'm trying to get it to default instantly when device lock is pressed. it was like that before this new rom. it may have something to do with a home plugin. not sure. tried searching but no luck.

Yeah, the middle of Las Vegas!

Thank you for your efforts.

I dont think i have ever tethered by usb. i know i tried a couple times, but i dont think it was ever successful.

i am heading to cali for the fourth and really really want to play with the gps on the way, and of course once i get there. But i am quite nervous about flashing. if anything happend to my phone i would feel like... :violent2:

Has anyone been able to change the location for the weather app to one that isn't listed? I haven't been able to get the fix that worked with the stock rom to work on this new rom. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Is that Telenav and don't you have to pay a monthly fee for that?

i had this problem for a wile with goggle maps. then i ran live search for the first time and gps worked. after that google maps started working too.

one thing is the 'my location' icon on the phone screen keeps saying its off when it on in settings. after i check the settings it mystiriously says on again, but says off again after reset. this doesnt seem to matter though cuz gps works no matter if the icon says on or off.

MakeMoves 07-03-2008 09:46 AM

Spb pocket plus ****ty on this rom.

Anyone else having problems with spb pocket plus? It freezes a lot for me after reset. It freezez up more times than it works. I tried a hard reset and put it on first. on main memory. worked a couple of times in a row than started doing the same thing. I first noticed after doing a soft reset with the software button instead of the bottom of the phone, dont know if this matters.

That's weird, I find it always locks on the today screen no matter what screen I'm on now. It didn't used to do that on the old rom for me. I have the red (end) button set for today screen and long hold set for lock. When I hold it down, long hold, I always get it locked on the today screen with big clock, which is exactly what I want! Try that and see if that helps.

Anyone having problem with battery life on the new rom? I love the GPS, but every time I use google maps or live search with GPS it sucks my battery dry. I feel like it really only can be used in the car with the charger plugged in and this causes the phone to get really hot!

I installed the update yesterday. There's definitely some improvements but also some quirks. i like the new qwerty keyboard and the new format for the text messages is kind of cool. The internet doesnt seem any faster and as a whole the phone seems sluggish. But TCPMP and Syncmate stopped working. Anyone else having these problems?

If you did the 2 hard resets after flashing, you wouldn't have had to manually install it. It's part of the rom now and will autoinstall for you. :)

Hey guys...total noob here, but I installed the new ROM and it is pretty great so far. However, I noticed that when I check my call history it only shows missed calls now, instead of all incoming or outgoing calls. Anyone know how to fix this?? Thanks alot!

also, since the update has anyone noticed that its a pain to set up imap email? everytime i type in my gmail address, the email client automatically detects it and assumes i want pop3 (and greys out the imap drop down). i have to misspell my address to get the option to skip the automatic detection.

I have to do the same...super annoying. Luckily it only has to be done once.

Yea, that's the only problem I have with the new rom, but there is a fairly simple work-a-around for it so it's all cool.

I have been using this ROM since the day of release.

I have had no problems with it.

If you use PIM Backup, just restore your contacts, phone log and message log. Nothing else, and that worked best for me.

I downloaded and reset everything. So far so good. And my google maps now gets gps.

meepzork 07-03-2008 05:58 PM

Re: NEW official Sprint ROM posted on XDA-dev by DCD

yeah i know i blew it there. i should have taken a backup of the PIM before i updated, but i just thought id do a new sync and be right back where i started.

is it possible to downgrade to the previous ROM? i was thinking I would downgrade, sync, backup the PIM, then upgrade and restore the PIM...
