You need to download and install a different version of HTC home.

Yeah, I have tried everything to get the audio tab (so I can use Audio Manager from the today screen) to show...but no luck so far. Has anyone figured this one out yet?

Also, I can't seem to be able to get my Hotmail account to work properly. Whenever I try to set it up, a message pops up stating that "auto setup found settings for: hotmail.com"...and then an IE window pops up so I can access my email through the web browser.:evil4: Am I doing something wrong or are some of you guys having the same problem?

Thats ONLY if you have Sprint as your carrier. If you have a different carrier then you MUST have cokemans 2.31 unlocker installed.

Anyone know what I should do??

You have to unlock your phone using Cokeman's 2.31 unlocker in order to use the Sprint update.

I know multiple people have upgraded their radios with verizon phones. Has anyone tried with a bell phone yet? Just wondering, as I'm very interested in this. I currently have the Altell radio installed with RLMCS's bell Rom. GPS can take a while and the signal level on the phone is pretty low, so any updates from people who have tired would be appreciated.

You have to call Verizon and get a new A-Key. Just tell them you need to reauthenticate your phone. Then soft reset, and you should be good.

Even if the Verizon word doesnt appear under the Start button? i remembered it always said verizon and when i try typing *228 the sprint voice comes up not the verizon female voice.

So, I've noticed that when I connect to the internet that sometimes it says "phone as modem" I'd never noticed this previously, and I see that some others have mentioned this as well. But haven't seen a defenative answer to if there is any cause for concern... ie is it really using the PAM profile to connect with just normal data and could you be charged as such. While I suppose the 100% answer won't come untill the bills come, but is there any concensus on this yet?
Obviously, I've done the regedit as a stopgap measure... but this seems like a pretty important flaw if what appears to be happening is happening.
other than that it seems good to me.

I've waited this long for an official release, so I'm still holding out hope that this means it will be soon. I'm thinking there's a chance that some of the minor problems that people are finding might be corrected in a final release and I don't want to install this twice. Am I alone in waiting?

Yes....Thats why it is doing that. Its hitting the Sprint towers, and not the Verizon. Have you tried a dialing different combination like *22801 *22802 *22803? Try that first before you call in to reauthenticate.

OMJ posted a fix for that earlier in this thread (sorry, in bed and tired to go looking for it right now lol) I used it and now it no longer uses the PAM profile, even when tethering.

i stayed up toll 430 am to install this and do all of my app installs / customizations again. just finished awhile ago. i did have to install this rom twice to get all the features to work. ive heard several people have had to do this. i notice it boots up faster and my phone reception and audio is better than ever. i had a few apps crash on me, probably becuase they werent compatible yet. but overall, i love it. plus i reinstalled torx's iphone theme and customizations, looks awesum now. :headbang:

IIRC that is the regedit I was referring to... I don't remember where it came from (still too tired from the move to look :)) but I'm pretty sure it was him... still since this is supposed to be what will ship.. it seems a pretty big issue

Just a head sup in case this happens to anyone else. I was 10% into the process and received a ROM update error. At first I panicked but followed the recovery mode instructions and the recovery worked. urrently at 50% on the update. My Active Sync also disconnected as another poster mentioned and I also received a device not recognized message in my system tray.

I did have a wireless mouse connected the first time which I removed after the error. Not sure if thatwas an issue. Now 79%.

I think they did that so that NON PAM subscribers wouldnt be able to tether the way we have been.....thanks to regedits we will be tethering away!!

Thats the location setting. Just set it to off. Go to Start>Setting>Phone>Click "Services" tab>highlight "Location Setting"> click on Get Settings>Then select On or Off.

When in the Dialer, the GPS icon will have a line goiing through it when it is off, and the line goes away when its on.

Hope that helps.

So can anyone tell me what steps they went through to get GPS working? Beyond installing the new ppu, what if anything was needed?

Does anyone know when it really will be released by Sprint and HTC? I remember that is was a few days after the Mogul was leaked that it was released by Sprint and HTC. When if comes to this type of update, I usually wait for the official release. If this is the real shipped release, then it should only be no more than another week by the latest.
