Re: Updated!! (5/18/08) ALMOST OEM 6.1 Sprint Vogue ROM **V.2.1** with Working GPS/Re

Great ROM! PPST worked, and now locking within 15 seconds! A few things that I noticed, maybe I have something setup wrong:

1. This has been mentioned, on the Touch Cube, Software Store, IM, and IE aren't working. I can edit the registry, but shouldn't it already be there?

2. In the Start Menu, the last programs section at the top clears out. Not sure why.

3. I'm not noticing much improvement with Rev A speeds. I've tried tethering and also dslreports on the Touch. I'm not sure if this is the radio version or crappy network...

4. When I click to change the city for the HTC Weather tab, it immediately exits the selector. You have to click 2-3 times on the city before the selector stays up. Not a huge deal, but annoying.

5. neuAudio gives an "unexpected error when run.

I'm not sure if it's the ROM config, but Opera Mini keeps asking me to allow it to use the data connection, every session. Is that normal? I thought I use to be able to tell it to always connect, and not ask me.

I used that PPST fix that was listed on this forum, I finally got it to install successfully; however it didn't seem to fix my GPS locating problem. I am still not able to lock onto any GPS. can someone help me? Also I am using the custom rom also found in this forum... According to others using the very same rom they are able to get gps locks... I must have done something wrong just not sure what...

Man I feel like an idiot... After some more ready I found that there is another step after installing the PPST... I learned that you have to go into the windows folder on your phone and run the update from there... Once I did that I got a GPS lock right away... WOOO HOOO!!!! Thanks to all of you who helped me out...

Worked great for me.
There are App0-App5 for the 6 cubes on the app launcher. I'm sure you can figure out which is which.
If you want the original OZ instant messaging software can be download from:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM...SPCS.GetOZ.CAB

Forgot to mention after you do the registry changes you'll have to do a soft reset for changes to take effect.
Thanks, I have the instant messanger now, still having cube issues... I am not sure how to correct the issues. Do I have to install the cube again seperatly and or can I just fix the problems with the current cube. If I can edit and fix the cube alrealy on the phone How do I go about doing that?

Thanks for your help...

This is a GREAT ROM thanks for the work. The only thing I am running into is that I cannot get Voice Command to activate with my bluetooth headset. It works fine from the phone, but just will not work with bluetooth. Sorry if I missed this somewhere, I did search the forum.

Thanks

Re: Updated!! (5/18/08) ALMOST OEM 6.1 Sprint Vogue ROM **V.2.1** with Working GPS/Re

I have a question. by the way before i start, GREAT ROM! i went from stock to this in no time, and i took your tutorial word for word and have had no problems. Rev A is amazing and gps is excellent. But i do have one question or request, maybe you can help me out. I loved the Vista keyboard that was put out. with the Red xt9 button. I tried installing it to overwrite default keyboard and it didnt take. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

I have read some posts on the PPST.exe doing wonderfull things for GPS and need to ask (since I have not found direct info on VZW XV6900) will any of the ppst.exe versions work on a Verizon XV6900? I am currently on OMJs VZW V2 rom. Thinking about going to his latest Alltel rom release.
