huh? if my GPS took 5 minutes to load, I'd be pretty pissed...

Cold start should be less than 5 seconds outside, and maybe 10 on the inside.

I'm thinking I need to run the PPST file on OMJ's latest ROM, because mine works quickly, but eventually stops working altogether, and needs a soft-reset...

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

what's with the ppst in the new official rom? it doesn't bring up the window and tell you it's going to have to reset and all that. it just turns off my phone service and sits there. is that what it's supposed to do? and also since i got the official rom on here, my gps was awesome for one day, now i can't get a lock EVER

They've made the new PPST run silently. I take it this was part of the problem in the test release where the new PRI wasn't being applied (because it wasn't running silently).

Now, if you are running PPST manually as you mentioned you won't see anything. If you want to see the results change these registry entires:

[HKLM\Software\OEM\PPST]

DisableBackupEFS - Dword=1
Silent - Dword=0
StayInCE - Dword=0
Succeed - Dword=1

Soft reset and rerun PPST.exe manually. You'll get the GUI this time.

Thank you, I had been wondering about this...

Does anyone have the new PPST.exe cabbed up? I know the old one is floating around everywhere... and people don't seem to realize there is a difference.

this is PRI 2.04_033, right?

the only one is 2.03_033...

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

Hi All, I need some help

I'm running the latest sprint radio (3.42.30) with the NSFFAN Rom. When I installed the sprint rom I havent let the customisation run because I am on Bell. I changed the GPS mode to 4 and run PPST that comes with the NSFFAN rom but I need about 5-10 minutes to get a lock. I think that is was a bit faster with the leaked ROM. Can someone tell me what I have done wrong please.

I would also like to know what are all the options in the GPS Viewer program. Does it exist some documentation for that application?

Finally when I run the GPS it drains about 25% of my batttery just to get a lock and then I am lucky if I can let the GPS run 1 hour on the remaining charge. Even if the phone is plugued on my car charger the battery stil get drained (but much slower)

Thanks in advance

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

I am on bell and I just found that SUPL AGPS/ServerIP was pointing to alc126.alcatel.be [195.207.101.126]. I changed the address to 172.25.8.100 and now it lock in about 30seconds inside of my home

I am still concern with the battery, please let me know if you have any hint for me (I would like to let my GPS run all the time because I want to use the GPS tagging for my pictures)

Thanks, richard

You don't leave GPS running the whole time. Use a tagger that activates GPS when needed.

draining 25% of your battery just for a lock!? that is RIDICULOUS. you should really try re-flashing, at least hard-resetting..something...that is unreal.
