Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

The best advise is, run PPST.exe from the Windows directory. Soft reset.
Go OUTSIDE, stand in an open place where you can see the sky in front of you.
Locks shouldn't take longer than 20 secs. All other tests for different roms should be performed at the same location for valid comparison.

I've tried it and so far so good. Will report if something else happens.

EDIT: the problem still persist! and it's killing me to keep re-running the ppst or soft resetting.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

If problem still persists, I would say that unfortunately there may be some sort of incompatibility with your current rom.
I am using OMJ's without a single issue so far, radio is also 3.37.15 like yours.
Worth giving a try:

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

lets say you ran the PPST (new 2.xx one) and then flashed a ROM. you shouldnt have to reinstall PPSt again because its on the radio side, correct?

correct, except for the fact that ive heard that ppst.exe also changes a few reg values, and therefore does not entirely carry over after flashing/hard-resetting etc...i just run it again each time.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

I'm running a vogue updated with JD's hybrid rom, and with the titan 3.35 radio.

I can't get my GPS working. I can see the satellites (I presume that is what is symbolized by the red circles with numbers) on GPS Viewer but I can not get a lock on my position. I have already changed the GPS field in the registry (I forget the exact name) to four and ran ppst.exe after downloading the cab, but still no success. Any Ideas?

If anyone can help me out I'll be much obliged.

What is the Location setting set to? 911 or Location On? It should be Location On.

blabber, you might try using the vogue radio. im not sure how ppst interacts when using the titan radio. also, just to make sure, you are running the 2.31 bootloader correct?
you also might try giving the sprint leaked rom a shot, and if that works, it will help us to narrow down the problem....

who is your carrier? either way, you can try the sprint leaked rom. if your carrier is not sprint however, be sure to reboot immediately after initial setup (aligning screen, setting timezone, tapping the screen to continue, etc...) and right before/when it shows "customization will start in 3 seconds..." or whatever it is.

details guys!
