My gps seems fine. I dont see a huge improvement but it was working pretty well before, though every now and then required a soft reset as google maps would just flip between 0 and 3 satellites but never lock. Maybe this will be more stable?

I'm still on Radio Version: 3.37.10 with no entry for EVDO in data parameters. I'm thinking of flashing the leaked ROM and then going back to the alltel/JDs test ROM so I can then use my spb back up to get my programs back. Will that get and keep the new radio?

I guess I should note that I have the updated drivers that were being messed around with in another thread.

Check out this post:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=139

The cab file will install the PPST.exe file. There is a separate cab for Altell or Sprint users. At this point, these are the only providers who have published the files.

Best regards,

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

So are we 100% sure this boosted GPS performance is a result of a PRL update? Can someone dump their registry before after running ppst.exe for the first time?

Don't know if PRL was a typo, but it is PRI, not PRL.

Why not follow what the first post suggests? It's your best choice to having your radio updated as intended by Sprint. (If they can intend anything on a leaked ROM)

For those confused, here is a brief explanation that I saved from the good ol 6700 days (sorry for not giving credit to the OP, but i didn't save their name):

The PPST cab actually updates the PRI (that's an i) not the PRL (easy to confuse the two). PRL (as you may know) controls what providers your phone will roam with. PRI, on the other hand, stands for "Product Release Instructions" and is essentially a list of settings for the CDMA radio. It is that updated PRI which contains settings to enable data roaming, to allow calls to interrupt an active data session (AKA "ring-thru") and in our case, improve GPS .

Thanks for the info, and a PRI is carrier specific?
