Can the updater detect the version and have an update pack depending on what version you have? Then if buildos could insert/replace the neccessary oems into the existing .rar file. This could be done locally instead of downloading the whole thing. I can forsee this file growing in size very quick.

So if I have version 2 and version 4 is out, I would get only update 3&4 which may only be 8megs instead of whatever it is up to now. then the updater could extract those to a temp dir, then add them to ppcgeeks_oem.rar. Would help us tethering folks out!
Already being thought of, but it requires maintaining a separate set of uncompressed oems. You can't add/remove from an rar without a commercial license.

Also thinking up a bunch of alternatives, like having the updater or buildOS add to the selections.txt for each separate rar'd OEM, something like that.

Won't be soon.

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I found a problem where the sound won't turn off when I put it in either silent or vibrate mode. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen. I see an X by the speaker icon at the title bar but still get full volume sound. Anyone else see this?

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I just read here what is causing JiveTalk not to work, SQLCE isn't present.

http://themobileunderground.com/2008...ows-mobile-6x/

I believe I found the .cab file which will install SQL, im flashing back to my custom ROM now and installing it. Will post results soon. Somebody already running a custom ROM can try it and probably reply faster than I...

thats from the fonts in weatherpanel default folder. Delete those fonts, or rename the extension so they don't get used, and reset.
I can never delete them, so I just add a number to the extension which makes them not load.

**** EDIT ****
Sorry, I just re-read that, and realized it may not be very clear.
Here's a quote from another post on the same subject that may be easier to understand.
"You need to go the WeatherPanel\Themes\Default directory and delete the BRADHITC.ttf and Pixel.ttf font files"
Like I said, I could never delete them, so I just renamed the extension .ttf1.

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I've tried loading Skype on 2 different roms using the kitchen, and it installs, but will not run.
I'm about to re-flash a 3rd rom and try it again.
I'll report back, but so far, no go on Skype either.

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

I can also verify that Skype doesn't work with the new kitchen. It will install and start to load, but after timing out a message appears that says, "Could not start Skype." I have never seen this behavior from Skype (though I haven't used the kitchen before). My kitchen is ultra-simplified and I have nothing else installed.

Re: New Sprint 3.02 OEM ROM / Kitchen incompatibilities and fixes

small annoyance and perhaps just a setting i don't know of but when I press the 'missed call' thin button on the htc home plug in, the 'filter by' option doesn't save. I used to keep that set to "all" but when i change it on the new rom it always goes backed to missed only.
