dont worry about GPSviewer getting a lock(its just to fire up GPS and open the com port), just select com4, baud rate of 4800. and hit open/start Gps and click on cold start.

Then minimize and open up your preferred program, and select the GPS option.

If you can't get the GPS to work because it doesn't show any sattelites, go to phone - options - services and check the Location Setting and make sure it is ON. I was going crazy trying to get the GPS to work until I saw this mentioned someplace, and sure enough as soon as I turned it on, the GPS saw sattelites, got a fix and worked perfectly.

My GPS started working flawlessly (in google maps at least) once I installed the 3.35 radio instead of the 3.37 radio and installed the hybrid rom. Voila, GPS, i have to use goog maps as a prime before i can use tomtom though. I like that better than having to run some obscure GPS app... just me maybe.

As the newer versions for software come out they will incorporate the intermediate drivers needed to prime the GPS. iGO 8 is going to be one of the first. I cannot wait.
