OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A! Updated 5/29/08

I'm about to upgrade to this ROM but i'm still a little iffy.. can someone let me know if i got this right?

I'm running the stock rom that came with my sprint touch:
ROM Version: 1.12.651.1 (date 9/18/07)
Radio version: 2.13.00

And what it seems i need to do is:
-unlock w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker
Then with my phone plugged in, run this:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM..._0823_Test.exe

When it's done installing:
then once phone has booted, run \Windows\PPST.exe to upgrade your PRI

When that's done, with my phone plugged in run:
OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.OEM.Sprint.exe

and i should be good to go? i don't have to type in any settings for my internet to work or anything? (i remember i had to for my tmo dash, just want to make sure)

and also, what is the easiest way to backup my contacts? i have outlook 07 but i get an error trying to backup my contacts..

I unlocked a Verizon xv6900 and flashed the test rom followed by OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch Rom for verizon. All seamed to go well. After switching phones to re authenticate the 6900, I can make and receive phone calls, gps works, even text messaging works. However, I can not connect to the internet. #777 which should connect does not. And I get an error message about Data Provisioning Failure Error Code: 1012. As I think back, I should not have let the test rom go through the customization session. Any one have any suggestions for me?

i recently downloaded the new rom to the vogue. i have to problems, 1st is if im on the internet and hold down to either the left or right side of the pad, it automatically takes to the desktop. what can i do to change that so it doesnt boot me off the internet?

2nd question that i have is everytime i do "X" of the internet, it takes me to the homepage, how can i change the setting to which it shows the last page i was on everytime i log back on?

I'm also about to receive my touch and install this rom and am interested in hearing the outcome of your question.

With Outlook 2007, you should be able to utilize ActiveSync to synchronize the PIM items. Did you try that?

I am using OMJ's wonderful verizion ROM and am enjoying this phone tremendously. I am getting great interent speeds and the GPS works after a few minutes of priming GPS test v1.04. Thanks!

One weird thing that is happening is that my screen keeps turning on for no reason. It happens like every 5 or 10 minutes. The phone will be sitting on my desk and the screen turns on catching my attention. I keep thinking someone is calling/texting.. I check the taskmenu and no programs are running... I can live with this, but I am concerned about my battery life, which isnt great...

Any suggestions?

yea that's what i tried first.. but i keep gettin a red exclamation point symbol on active sync, which i guess means it's not syncing my contacts correctly.. they're not showing up on my pc either 0_o.. weird..

but i downloaded that prog from dotfred.com, i'm just gonna use that as long as the rest of the steps i listed before are correct.. anyone?

Precisely bruh. You got it. Just a few pointers here though.

When flashing this, make sure after you unlock with IMCOKEMANS vogue unlocker, you have to reestablish the active sync connection. Then you power-camera reset. (To perfom a pwer-camera reset you need to simultaneously(at the same time) press and hold the power button and camera button, WHILE inserting the stylus into the soft reset hole.)


It should bring you back to the tri-colored screen and you should see something on the top that says spl 2.31.0

At this point, the test.exe file should be in same folder as the RUU (rom update utility). it will ask you to run and you hit yes.

When this is complete, run the RUU. You mark the checkboxes yes and proceed. You will see an UPDATE button on the following screen. hit that and once that is complete you will see from 2.31.0 to the test rom name. If this is correct then proceed.

It will tell you that the process will take about ten minutes to completion. You will see the completion percentage displayed on the screen and and the device. After completion is finished the device will reset and a completion notification will be diplayed on the screen.

Hit FINISH and let the customization process run.

Now you are ready to install OMJs rom.

After downloading the selected rom from OMJ, place the rom in the same folder as you did with the test rom. run the rom so that it will load into the RUU.

After that is complete, please power-camera reset and the tri-colored screen should be displaying on the device once again.

Go on and run the RUU as usual but this time when you update you should see the name of the OMJ rom that you selected. If this is true then it is safe to proceed my friend.

It will once again display the ten minute process notification. Proceed to download and it will bring you back to completion percentage screen which will obce again be displayed on the device and the pc monitor.

After this is complete, the device will reset and there will be a download completion notification on the monitor as before. hit FINISH.

After rebooting, start-up animation will run, and then you should see WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 on the screen if done correctly.

Let customization run. and you can now pat your self on the back.
