OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A! Updated 5/29/08

Abelis I just got my 6900. I'm new at flashing roms. I want to activate my GPS. My rom is 1.15.605.14 My radio is 1.60.30 Do i need to update my radio first? If so were do i get it? With so many roms floating around it confuses me. Thx any advice is much appreciated.

I am certainly no expert but had success following the directions on the first page of this thread as well as the two stickys:

That being said, here is what I did:

First step is to tun the unlocker to unlock the phone allowing it to be flashed.

-unlock w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker

I then ran the original sprint leaked ROM which also upgrades the radio to the necessary 3.37.15. After running the .exe when the ROM is flashed it will ask you to align the screen and enter the date and time. After which it will count down from 3 to begin provider customization. Perform a soft reboot before this customization begins to prevent the Sprint customization from running.

I finally ran OMJ's custom rom for Verizon.

The only other comments that I have is that after running it took a while for the first GPS lock with GPS viewer. After that, lock was fast. Also, I had to call VZ customer service to authenticate my phone. No big deal.

I haven't tried any of the other ROM's but I know some Verizon users have had success with some of the others. They vary by what programs they have pre-installed, the UI setup, etc.

I take no credit for any of this, it is only through the hard work of other's like OMJ, Dr. Harvey, jim2561, and many others that I had any clue or confidence to proceed.

OK I ran cokeman's unlocker and it says connect your device before continuing. Press any key. Initializing. The system cannot execute the specified program 6 times. The next step will be to load a temporary SPL to run With JumpSPL. Press any key to cont. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

Hi, was wondering if anyone on Sprint WAS NOT able to get the GPS to work? I successfully upgraded with no problems, and have been runing this rom for almost a week. Everything works great except GPS. Have yet to get a lock let alone see a single sattelite on GPS viewer or the today plug-in. Much thanks to OMJ for all the support. And for those getting connection errors uploading the rom, mine crashed repeatedly until I unchecked "Enable advance functionality" under settings ->connections->usb to pc.
