welcome to the club.. i dont know whats the cause, but gps only works temporarily, and then its a no go for everyone lol.. some have been lucky to get it to work again periodically, but most of us cant

I just flashed this ROM and I finally got it working. I hope it lasts. So far, it's worked flawlessly and locks within 10 seconds, even indoors. I am using OMJ's 6.1 v2 with the kickstart.cab and the 3.37 radio.

quite jealous of the "i've never had a prob with gps, it always works and locks within .1 sec." users. lol

I was like that, Brera... I flashed so many different ROMs and even tried the Titan 3.35 and it just never locked. I'm not sure what changed either... cause I tried OMJ's before, but that was v1. Not sure what the difference is.

i've tried radios and roms, jds hybrid , yadda yadda.. nothing dude . Maybe the official release will fix all this gps drama

I hope so... what is the exact issue with yours? Does it show satellites in GPSViewer at all?

I get the whole row of satellites in my gpsviewer, however never locks. I'm going to try and turn off the GPS Today pluging and see if I get a lock today. What's interesting is that if I start up google maps after a soft-reset..the maps finds the general locality of where I am but then keeps jumping around never getting a lock

i love this rom... but after my intial day of playing with it. i can not get gps to work again. Can any body help.. and what does this gps viewer intel (what does it do and where can i get it)


edit ...dont know what i did but i got it too work sorry about that.. I would still like to know about this gps veiwer though

I'm running OMJ's Sprint v2 ROM with 3.35 radio. I get 8 to 14 sats with a continuous lock on 6 to 8 outdoors and 3 to 6 in. But like others after the phone sleeps for a while (more than 2 hrs) I have the problem where I cannot see any sats without having to reboot. However, I have noticed that if it plugged in (and the screen off) I can turn it on and get immediate GPS access.

Perhaps we need some type of utility to "turn" GPS on and off? Like with the BT or phone radio? Is there one out there?
