Then I open up the gps today maps, google maps or the cool telenav program included in this rom. GPS works really well - either when walking outside or even in my car driving around (I am careful I promise).

I have been testing this out yesterday and today with the following method. Turn on gps, mess around with googlemaps etc., turn off gps, put the phone in standby anywhere from 30 mins to a few hours, turn the phone back on, turn the gps back on, mess around etc. It seems to work well everytime.

I was previously using gpsviewer to "prime" the gps and it seemed to work also but I think it was taking longer.

I soft reset a couple times while I was testing the gps but I'm pretty sure this way has been giving me consistent gps locks.

Not saying that this is new information by any means, but just wanted to let people know that the combination of OMJ's rom (very good btw), the titan 3.35 radio, the gpskickstart cab, and the regedit seem to be working well for me. If anybody is having trouble getting locks then maybe give this a try, hope it helps somebody out there,

I tried to duplicate your success as closely as possible. I've got it working sometimes now, which is better than the never getting a lock I had before!

The only difference I see is I'm using the 3.37 radio, though I tried 3.35 as well.

GPS works find from a fresh reboot, locks on in a minute, and even works inside.

But after awhile, it stops working. I tried turning off then on phone (which I heard resets some things related to GPS) and I have the kickstart program installed.

Of note, I noticed that when GPSToday wouldn't find any sats, if I tried to open GPSViewer on COM4: it got stuck at opening the port. Scanning with it said there was no GPS on that port.

I think I've had 4 or 5 "I got it!" moments. After the first one I wait now and test it for a couple days, but have had no consistant luck either.

Couple of issues with Alltel ROM:

1. I am getting a no service flash on my phone but yet it works fine. (FIXED with *228 option 3)
2. the Phone screen will just automatically come up by itself.
3. I am also getting the ROAM triangle flash when Im in my local area. (FIXED with *228 option 3)
4. Im sure this is on my end.. just dont know how/what the fix is.. I have had to reboot the phone (locked up) and everytime I have done this.. I have to resetup the screen and all like its a fresh install.. ideas?

GPS seems to be working for me... Im not locating any satelites but seems to find me where Im at... :shrug:

For any help on these matters would greatly be appreciated. I was also getting the roaming triangle with just the Alltel updated flash.

I've had it for a day & a half now, had some trouble with GPS but it seems to work now yet i haven't put it to enough use.
I do need help with one thing please;
Can someone give me the address to the startup GIF file? I screwed mine up and don't know how to restore the one this ROM came with.

I havent.. all I did was install the ROM... love it so far excecpt for a few things.. see above.

Anyone know why the contact completion doesn't work when sending a text message?
Is this a WM 6.1 issue? I know it worked in the stock Bell ROM...

you have to backspace back to the end of the name and they will pop up.. idk why this changed either but yeah, when you do it.. make sure the crusor is at the last letter of the name with no spaces in between and a little thingy should pop up with the names and phone numbers
