You should be able to use any Vogue ROM that is 3.xx radio compatible.

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio

Ok, so after installing JD's vista style ROM I can now open the com port for GPS. I activated it inside and am still waiting for a lock. I am sitting near a window. Lets see if it works.

On my Kaiser (which supposedly has similar hardware but different software [drivers and whatnot]) I am able to get a lock in several seconds with an exact pinpoint on my location. Also, many Kaiser users like myself report getting a faster lock with various radios. That's why I'm on the lookout for different radios (and drivers).

Anyways, the progress being made lately has been AMAZING! Props to those who have been raising the bar!
I agree with this statement as well. While I don't expect it to work as good as a standalone GPS unit, when mine gets a fix, it works just as good as my BT GPS receiver.

I think when people say its not accurate, they might be looking at the aGPS position Google Maps (or whatever program) picks up first. Since that's using cellular triangulation, its not going to be accurate. Once you get a lock on 3+ sats, it should be really accurate.

When I lock on 4+ sats, every GPS program I try gets my exact location, and it has also worked good while driving. I tried it using iGuidance (with GPSGate for the refreshing problem) on the interstate the other day for a 30 minute drive and it kept up with me and was very accurate.

If the standby issue still exists, I can live with that since I'm not going to be using GPS everyday. So far this ROM/Radio combo seems better than the other ones I've tried.

You also have to remember that this is still a hack. We're using a radio and drivers that aren't made for this device, so you can't expect it to work flawlessly.

With the Mogul GPS, I'm happy with a 1-3 minute startup from a cold start. My BT GPS unit took about a minute or so to get a lock.

The first time took me about 5 minutes outside. Now it seems to take 2-3 minutes indoors from a cold start.

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio

For those that have installed the Titan radio how does it compare to the Alltel radio when it comes to making a phone call, is the reception better, worse, or the same?

I disabled aGPS in the registry and I still can't get an exact pinpoint, it is still off. I'm getting the same results as if it were enabled.

I do hope that we can get this to work flawlessly on all our Vogues someday soon even tho it wasn't meant to happen from the start.

Reception is two times better for me in my area using this Sprint 3.35.04 radio with Sprint.

Reception for me seems better than the Alltel ROM....but for me, the Alltel ROM seemed to make my signal a little worse...so now I would say its back to normal (with Sprint).

thats what i was trying to say. While it works well, complaining it takes 1-2 min to get a fix is a little out of line. A bluetooth receiver takes just as long to get a cold fix. you cant expect a 10 second fix every single time. GPS results vary greatly even depending on the weather and your position (gps signal strength from the satellites).

The Kaiser was released with gps out of the box, so it seems like HTC spent more time on perfecting those to work well right away. But either way, when i had a kaiser it took a good minute to start up also. I dont think it was all that much better cold-start wise. It was a little more stable but of course were using cracked drivers not meant for our phone.

But i dont think taking Mogul drivers/radio (thought were already using the mogul dll's anyways?) and putting them into the Touch will change that much until an ifficial optimized update is out for us

That's weird for me the Alltel rom gave me a better reception than the original sprint rom. My home is located in a wierd 300 foot fringe area so its hard me to hold a conversation without dropping a call. Usually I have to force the phone to roam on US Cellular network. I guess I'll try the Titan radio and see if it helps.
