Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
I just tested GPS. Locks on to 3, sometimes briefly 4, sats in about 2 minutes. Zoomed in all the way and using sat view it started looking off by maybe 15 feet, then after a few more seconds it was pretty much dead on. Exited google maps, opened it back up again, selected "use gps" popped right back up. So either the same to slightly better than before. Compared to the time i had with the titan, it locked in in mere seconds with approximately 12 satelites... so we still have a ways to go. At least it works and consistantly.

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
no, but it does GPS like this. i just walked outside to smoke a cigarette and it followed me all the way to the garage. took about 20 seconds to get a satellite connection now ^_^

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
i just flashed ...
noticible differences better connection to sprint network (as usual) as others already noted GPS might be better but its not comparable to official titan release. When I flashed my friends titan to the official gps I was able to get a signal inside my apartment didn't even need to put it near the window. It also tracked my movement inside the apartment (3 storys and I'm on the bottom floor). I didn't even need that on the titan. I can't even do this with GPS viewer on the vogue. Which leads me to believe that our vouge's aren't aGPS enabled fully .. or not at all. It seems I'm picking up more satellites from my window but no lock similar to 3.37 radio. I perfer this right off the bat compared to the first release (gpstest2.1) by JD. Few minor issues with ROM ... Don't know how to disable the WKTASK manager (I perfer quickmenu), Bluetooth FTP is missing, went to call manager and the aspect ratio, font, or something is off because because its all blurry. Thats it for now ALSO User Customization works with the hybrid rom I didn't KNOW this. It actually worked out to my advantage! But BEWARE... A MAJOR plus side this rom is lightning fast even after I installed HTC Home. I never seen a rom this fast! |
Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
Lol, the mogul (titan) users I know certainly don't know more about this stuff than I do, and I've only built 2 roms.

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
I tried Alltel and JD's Custom 3.xx's but never got GPS fixed. I gave up and then this ROM came up, I was totally wasted with Tanqueray Rangpur but followed all the step closely and VOILA now I have a working gps!!!! Thanks JD (and Tanqueray)!!!!! Following is my speed test (not much of a difference)

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
WOW this is awesome!!!! Thanks! GPS lock was fast. I was inside and got a lock in under 5 seconds! Amazing, seems even faster than my XV6800 with GPS!

Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
Time for a little The Good, The Bad and The Ugly....
The Good! : So I followed the extremely well laid out instructions (JD, Mindfrost - what would we do without guys like you doing excellent work like this?!?!) this afternoon around 5pm and walking out to my car I had the longest wait for a lock today and that was <3 mins!!! The best one that I have had was after hockey tonight... I powered up my Vogue from off and by the time I clicked Open GPS in GPS Viewer there were 4+ locks!!! With the Alltell / JD's GPStest ROM setup I was lucky to lock in under 10 mins and lucky to have 3 to 5 locks whereas now I am routinely seeing 7! :headbang: The not so good but certainly not bad : As for the Rev A increase I really haven't seen it... I went from ~500-700K on stock EVDO to ~950K average on the Alltel/gpstest and the best I have seen on this latest concoction is 1048K... Because I am worried about tethering my speed tests are all done using the 1MB text based test @ dslreports... Will some people please try that test as well so I can compare Apples to Apples? Much Appreciated. The Bad : No cube?!? What will I do without my iCube!!! Mixxy, I thought I had the solution to our woes... I installed the Sprint cab which I believe you already did and then changed the following registry setting : HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\EnableCube -> 1Unfortunately that is not enough... Anyone else care to shed some light on this? And now I can't seem to reinstall iCube?! I uninstalled but it shows up in the Remove Programs and then I try to re-install and it fails... =( The Ugly : Not really ugly so much as foreign... =) That is the interface on the Hybrid ROM... I do like it... I just am not sure if I like it enough to keep it... heh heh I am going to give it an honest try at the very least. That said I gather from what I read that I can install any ROM that had v3.x radio drivers and expect the same performance? I thought I read in one of the original posts that this Hybrid ROM had drivers that were specific to the Titan radio? Wow... sorry for the reallllly long post... I am just excited about this mod! :drunken: Patrick |
Re: Titan 3.35.04 radio
I hate to litter this thread, but after going thru everything...my device seems to be messed up.
It only works when connected to the computer via usb. If its on AC or battery power, it will boot the os and then randomly turn off and reboot. My first thought was incorrect bootloader. An incorrect bootloader would not have let the phone boot the OS would it? radio reads 3.35.04 on boot, P is Dcaaxam-4350H and D reads 3.04. when i manually put the phone into bootloader, it shows SPL-0.40coke. So i thought, per the instruction, that 2.31 should show on the bootloader. So I went back thru to relock with 2.31. I have done this 3 times, and it still reads .40. I have tried hard-resetting twice. I followed the instuctions exactly. Can someone please help ya dude? |
