I haven't done the update yet but I remember to get google maps working with my bt gps, I had to configure "External GPS" in Settings->System. Perhaps give that a go. From what I've read, the internal GPS should be port 2 or port 4. Forgot which one is default and which one is recommended to improve performance...

I reconnect the USB cable but I don't get an activesync connection. Am I supposed to reset the phone and then reconnect? What am I doing wrong? Help is appreciated. I really want to make this work.
No! While in Bootloader mode (rainbow screen) disconnect the USB, then reconnect and press Enter. As soon as you're in bootloader mode ActiveSync doesn't work anyway.

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

This is fantastic!!!
Big thanks to everyone working on this!!!!

After all the personalization I have done I am going to wait a little longer for a solid WM 6.1 ROM w/ RevA and GPS.... And then I am updating FOR SURE! =)

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

I've read through most of the posts about the GPS/REV A, and I've gotten it all to work on my Sprint Touch (Althought I have to use the Holux GPS Viewer to "open" the GPS before I can use the GPS through any other application). It takes forever to get a lock, but I'm hoping QuickGPS will fix that (or at least make it tolerable).

However, I've got one problem that's really starting to bug me. I've seen other people hint that they have it to, but no outright declaration. When I soft reset my phone, it takes about 5 minutes before it'll get a signal (HTC Home caption says "Searching . . . ", and I can't call or get an internet connection). After about 5 minutes, it says "Sprint PCS", and shows a signal. I was using the stock rom before this (Sprint), and I've NEVER had to wait more than about 10 seconds to get a signal.

Anyone else want to confirm that they are having the same issue? Has anyone found out the reason for the long delay, and is there any possible fixes?

Thanks a lot,

Scott

You have to enable the "location service" and you have to program the external gps to COM4 in software and None in hardware.
Everything is very well explained in the first post and googlemaps is working with those settings.

About Tomtom though, I was only able to use it with googlemaps accessing the gps in the background and tomtom configured to "another nemra GPS" or something like that linked to COM4...is there a workaround for that?

Thanks to everyone, I've been able to update my Telus touch without any problems!

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

I helped a buddy at work get setup with Tom Tom on his GPS/Rev-a Titan, and used this gps "priming" utility to launch Tom Tom. It works flawless for him.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364199

As I type this I launched Tom Tom on my touch about 10 minutes ago and am still waiting for a lock. I see it's found 4 satellites but not locked on yet.

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

how do you get the telenav gps from sprint on your phone? i havent tried this rom yet, but i have a friend that has the titan and the telenav works pretty well. plus it's already included in my package anyway so i might as well use it.
