Unbricking Vogue / and downgrading SPL

I am having a little trouble here. I understand all this however, I have downloaded 2 different Alltel official roms. Nither of them haave a ruu_signed.nbh. They do have Special_4350_For_Alltel.nbh and VOGUIMG.nbh. Is it one of these??

Edit by ImCoKeMaN: If you are stuck in bootloader (3 color screen) use titanexitbl or mtty (set 16 0 then task first and try these steps only if that doesn't work.

Apparently you can not use SDHC cards with this method, please use the 512mb card that came with your phone.


I have successfully unbricked my phone due to updating the Alltel rom to a non Alltel Vogue, before IMCokeman had released his unlocker an also have downgraded to the previous SPL version. I will shortly update this post with the How to instructions. I just need to retrace my steps.

I would first like to thank IMCokeMan for his help and unlocker.

I currently have a Sprint Vogue but I assume this will work for all versions

For those that had loaded the Alltel rom without the unlocker and have bricked there phone try this procedure to unbrick your phone.

1. First download IMCokeMaN's 2.31 Unlocker. http://rapidshare.com/files/11019074...r_MFG_2.31.exe
2. Extract IMCokeMan's unlocker

Previous SPL version was 2.31 current SPL version is 0.36

Note: Steps 3, 4 and 5 should not be necessary, but step 6 is critical that it is a signed rom from your carrier

3. Navigate to the extracted folder and within the folder you will find the following file called VOGUIMAG2.nbh and rename it to VOGUIMG.nbh

4. Copy the file to a fat32 memory card, and insert it back into your phone, and place it into bootloader mode.

5. The phone should display Loading... let it sit there for a minute or so. It will not go past this screen, now reboot the phone.

6. Extract your official rom (Must be a signed EXE from your carrier, check here)

7. Navigate to the extracted folder and within the folder you will find the following file called ruu_signed.nbh and rename it to VOGUIMG.nbh

8. Copy the file to your memory card (less than 2gb and formated fat32) and insert it back into the phone and place it back into bootloader mode, and install the your Carrier's Official ROM.



I have attached the VOGUIMG.nbh file for those that are having problems.

I have followed all instructions for this, at the bootloader screen I get the "loading no image file" briefly, then back to tricolor. I was attempting a cooked rom and used the wrong unlocker.. This is what my bootloader reads VOGU100 / SPL-0.36.000 / CPLD-3.. any help would be appreciated! I have an XV6900 vzw..

I have probably tha dumbest question in tha world but I am a newbie at this whole hackin gig and I loaded Alltell Rom on my cricket flashed mogul..... It loaded all tha way to 100 % and the phone was supposed to restart but it did not although it did turn off.. I think that I have officially messed up my phone since none of tha lights work on it and when it connects to my computer it shows up as a modem.
Am I accurate in saying that I totally jacked up my precsious Mogul!????????
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the exact same problem on a Verizon branded XV6800. I believe that the bootloader has become corrupt. Windows device manager shows a HTC Modem ad a HTC Diagnostic Interface com port. I think you could use mtty to talk to the Diagnostic interface, but I have no idea how to install a new bootloader. Can anyone shed some light on how ti unbrick these phones? Please...

i have the same problems i started using cokemans unlocker 2.31
then i proceeded and downloaded omj"s manila clean (m2d)
i found out i was to upgrade the radio to 3.xx (i didnt)
i ran omj's RUU and restarted my phone
it starts showing the verizon wireless screen and bam its frozen...i was told that it could be loading...so i let it sit for about 5 hours...nothing
so im trying to unbrick this verizon vogue
i got to the signed RUU and placed into storage card and when it says loading it displays for about .2 seconds and "No Image File" is flashed on the loading screen.
what should i do next

I don't know if this was addressed earlier on in the last 35 pages but a 4GB cards works if you partition it to something less than 2GB. Acronis or Ubuntu.

Can anyone tell me how to get out of spl 0.36.0000 mode and into 2.31 mode? When I try 2.31 I get a "no connection" error or when I try .40 I get the same error.

I tried for 8+ hours trying to fix my phone it was stuck in bootloader mode in 2.01.1000. Everything I tried did not work until I decided to try on my old desktop. It worked the first try. I used mmty and put in "set 16 0 task 8". On Vista it wouldn't open from the USB port in mmty but it worked perfectly on XP. XP is the key for Verizon users I believe. No memory card needed just use mmty. Also once it booted back up the power button didn't work so it would stay in sleep mode. To fix this I put the .40 unlocker on my device. After I fixed that my phone couldn't be authenticated by the network so I just called Verizon and they fixed that. I hope this post helps someone I definitely could of used it about 8 hours ago but it's fixed non the less so I'm satisfied.
