Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

If anyone is having irratic GPS updates with navigation software that uses a COM Port then use this tool. It took iGuidance from unusable to working as smooth as my bluetooth GPS. I learned about this reading the 6800 forums in preparation for GPS

http://franson.com/gpsgate/

I set it up manually. Input = WM GPS and Output to Virtual COM Port = COM1

Roaming Options?

Hey gang. Is there any way to set roaming options with this ROM, outside of EPST? Obviously the choices for what you can do are limited (compared to the Sprint ROMS), and I can get as far as setting the phone to be able to roam for phone but not the fine-tuning options for data roaming. I can't seem to find where to turn on automatic data roaming. The end result is that even though I have my LiveMail options set to push mail as it arrives (even when roaming), I have to initiate the send and receive every time.

Any ideas?

I'm also using this with iGuidance. I didn't use WM GPS as the input though, I set it to COM4.

Are you just letting GPSGate run all the time and just starting iGuidance like normal? Or are you using one of the launcher programs out there?

I haven't tried using GPS Gate much, but from what I gather, it keeps an active connection with the GPS module. If this is the case, your battery will drain faster. You can tell if it is running by looking at the bottom of your Today screen. You'll see the green connected icon for GPS Gate.

ahhhhhhhhh... ok, i'm going to ask a "noo-be" question (mainly because i use GSM devices), but what are the codes for and what do the roaming options provide you? (teflon suit applied!)

Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

so the ## codes are back and the roam that gives you sprint/roam/auto, but what about the data roaming settings? Will this ROM data roam by default because i know the Sprint OEM ROM had it off by default

That's 90% of what I needed, thanks! Still looking for the data roaming settings to be added back though. Anyone know how to get them to show up?
